Whenever we are in town we always enjoy lunch at Ettore’s. Today we split their delicious burger and fries. Wonderful presentation—so worth the nominal split fee of $1. I always enjoy an Arnold Palmer made with the Citrus Ice Tea. No photos—we were too hungry.
There are a number of better places near-by to get out-of-this world espresso, but if you want a treat (come la Nonna l'ha preparata), this may be the only authentic Italian bakery in Sac you can rely on. The sheer number of baked delicicies is only eclipsed by their taste. I had cookies with jam, a morning danish and, yes, mille-feuille, all delectable (and no, I did not eat them at the same time). I found the espresso to be a little on the thin side (even though I asked for 'un ristretto'). Not a deal breaker, as I really cane for the dolci!
My go-to for pastry. I work in the area and visit Ettore's around dinner time twice a week. This is excellent, upscale food in a causal, relaxed atmosphere. They have a great patio which is heated in the winter months.
My favorite bakery items are the sandwich-style macaroons (vanilla, chocolate and pistachio), which are the best I've ever eaten. My wife is a carrot cake aficionado, and her favorite slice still comes from Ettore's.
The coffee here is great too. Far better than Starbucks or Peet's, and you'll pay about the same price and (maybe) wait in a similarly long line. But this just forces you to peruse the pastry case (dammit!!).
Fantastic restaurant. The best tasting bakery in town. Astonishing interior and outstanding service. Always recommend this place to my friends
Coffee patio. Grab a counter treat and hang out on fair oaks
whats not6 to like?
Favorite place. When I crave lemon bars this is the place I must get them from. But everything is Amazing and yummy.
SUPER DELICIOUS!!!. When I moved to Sacramento, I had contacted an old Culinary School buddy of mine to ask which spots I should hit in this town. Knowing my insaitable sweet tooth, (Hey, it keeps the dentist in business! I am helping the economy by ensuring job security for dentists!) Now, back to Ettore's.
When I first walked in, I glanced at all of the beautiful pastries on display. Then, I looked up to have full view of the area where the pastries were made. I was AMAZED to see that it was truly a European dessert factory! The sponge cake is staple, buttercream frosting is actually FRENCH BUTTERCREAM, which is lighter and made with CREAM, not SHORTENING like American buttercream. Fruits and nuts are generously used in just about every dish from salads, sandwiches, and pastries.
The coolest thing is that I found some desserts that I am only known for making; and they make them, too!!! Though I am sad that I can no longer claim to be the only one who makes walnut bars like the Danes; I am glad that SOMEONE has got it right when it comes to baked goods!!!
The prices are great, and the food is delicious! I am a frequent diner here, and I die hard fan!!!
Go there, you will be glad you did; so will your dentist! ;o)
Great for so many things. The desserts here are to die for - check out the pastries too. Handcrafted and very European. The tarts are wonderful, the cakes are light and rich. The Napoleons are the best in town!
The wood oven makes some terrific chicken! They also have a pasta and risotto of the day. The have different salads every day and the bread is wonderful. Try it
How has this place not been reviewed??. This is such a great bakery! Beautiful pastries, and cakes. To-die-for Red Velvet Cake. Can't say enough about the Napoleons....amazing!
Visiting Sacramento from out of town we noticed that this bakery was open at night with lots of people inside so we decided to check it out.
Was delighted to see so many pastries and baked goods, so we ordered a few to try. I liked the princess cake and Black Forest cake.
I also noticed that you can order lunch and dinner items. If we didn't just finish having dinner I would've tried. Perhaps next time.
Good place to visit if you gave up on your diet. They have a great variety of cookies, pastries, and cakes. Place had an old charm, not the cleanest, service was quick, I didn't dine, to get few slides of cakes to go and price wasn't too cheap, 3 slides of cake were about 15 dollars. I would definitely go there again whenever I need some sweets.
The only place to get a wedding cake. Today I had a Napoleon. It was layers of whipped with puff pastry and fruit. It was so creamy and decadent. Definitely one of the best bakeries in Sacramento.
First time at Ettore’s as my daughter raved about this restaurant and bakery as I’m from out of state visiting. We had a wonderful lunch absolutely delicious sandwiches and salad pasta!! We bought several pastries which were also amazing and so delicious!! Excellent customer service:)
The cake we ordered for our daughter’s birthday was so delicious and very light not overly sweet! The cake was super yummy and beautiful!!
Great Bakery! The birthday cakes 🎂 are made so yummuy! Got one of the Chocolate Cherry 🍒 ones & was impressed! So busy.. didn't eat, but lots of folks were sitting down to eat. Long line went by quickly! Great customer service. Staff described each cake in detail. Definitely visit again. Highly recommended!
Chocolate chip 🍪 cookies amazing!
First timer and now will be a frequent flier. The customer service was good and the food was AMAZING!!! I had the meat quiche which flavors were on point w/salad & fresh fruit. I got a lemon bar and chocolate chewy to go and they were delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
My favorite “cheat” day place that serves delicious treats. Kahlua cake, chewy chocolate cookie, and carrot 🥕 cake 🍰 are my favorites. Not sweet and so worth it. Prices are reasonable. I also come here for lunch and brunch. Their food is always delicious and will always return!

Very charming cafe with tasty pastries. The caramel pecan cheesecake tastes like heaven!
We came for Sunday Brunch with a group, it was very tasty food. Make sure to place your order at the front before being seated. I recommend the Eggs Benedict and the complimentary croissants and cinnamon rolls were very tasty! Can't wait to try the cinnamon roll french toast on our next visit!
I have stopped here for my lunch. Ordered house hamburger with green salad. And it was really good. High quality ingredients. Very juicy. I like them medium done. Very delicious and organic. Coffee is not bad either. The only thing I would change or update is interior and introduce more creative healthy sandwiches.
