Dim sum was as good - if not better - than any other dim sum in Sacramento. The seafood "made to order" selection looked outstanding and can't wait to try. The restaurant was very clean and the prices good.

We arrived at 9:33am and watched as a small crowd gathered at the entrance.  At 10:00, we pounced. We were probably the 6th or 7th table seated.  Within a minute, a steady stream of carts full of piping-hot steamers descended upon us.  Lids were lifted.  Heads nodded.  Consumption began. And continued for the next 90 minutes. Pork with Jellyfish.  Roast Duck.  Baked AND Steamed Pork Buns. Shrimp Siu Mai.  Shrimp Rolls.  Shrimp and Rice Balls.  Ginger Pork Dumplings.  Eggplant with Shrimp.  Etc., etc., etc.  Did I mention shrimp? Seriously, we ate for 90 minutes.  The variety and quality was quite excellent, and the service was on par...until 45 minutes in. Allow me clarify.  The dining room is HUGE.  I mean, from the outside the restaurant looks to be the size of a grocery store.  Inside, there is an endless sea of tables.  After 15 minutes, we kinda thought, "What a waste of space!"  30 minutes later, the enti

Asian Pearl Dim Sum Cart Dim sum is the Chinese equivalent of small plates, similar to tapas for Spaniards. They had their origin in the roadside teahouses of old China as travellers would stop for repast on their long journeys. Dim sum is eaten while sipping tea and soon became a normal part of every day life. Farmers would go to the teahouses to relax after a hard day in the fields. Here in the States dim sum is served usually at Chinese restaurants that specialize in it since it takes a lot of time and effort to create the dozens of small dishes that are needed. There are chefs that are speciliazed in creating these morsels, with nimble fingers for shaping many of the dumplings that are standard favorites. For non-Chinese, dim sum is usually a weekend brunch affair. This was the case when I went with my dining companions one Sunday. In Sacramento the best known and oldest dim sum restaurant is New Canton on Broadway. But it is so popular that there can be a wait and the tables are c

Great dim sum place to take your family and friends. I just wish they bring food out more often and in a fashion orderly manner.....the food and dim sum are amazing and always exceed my expectations, however the wait on the food is almost not worth it any more. About 1.5 hr into the services, they finally brought out the main dishes like pork belly, chicken, veggies etc...that is when my crew and I already tired of waiting and left before getting the dishes we initially came for... overall not bad

We enjoy the dim sum food at this restaurant. We used to go to Hong King islander, but they had a fire not open now. It is a nice change different style of flavor to some of the dishes. Plenty to choose from and hot off the cart. Prices are good. We will be going back again for sure.

Nice place. Wish the middle spinny table was a bit bigger. The items of note here are the shumai, dumplings, and stir fry veges. Everything else was pretty typical. The hot chili is like 1 jalapeno with seeds and ribs worth of heat. Fried rice was alright as well.

We went there part of a tour so don’t know the price but food was delicious and the atmosphere was big and lovely. Service was also great. Very traditional Cantonese cuisine. We wet on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Beside our tour group probably 3 more tables were taken.

Got dim sum here on a weekend. The vibe is very lively and busy, service can be a little slow. However, the food is pretty decent. Their rice roll has a char siu variety that I've never seen elsewhere. They offered pig ear and even specially made some tofu skin wraps for us when they didn't have any in the rotating carts. I like that the restaurant is bright and lots of light. Tea charge is $1/person.

Best Dim Sum in Sacramento. If you want delicious authentic Dim Sum, this is the place to go. There is a line every time when we go there, but the wait is worth it. When you have Asian Pearl, you do not need to drive to the Bay Area for great Dim Sum. Asian Pearl Restaurant is the best!!!

I met family here for dim sun at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. Please keep in mind that Saturday and Sundays are extremely busy during lunch time for dim sum. This is a very large restaurant that can accommodate hundreds of customers. However, be prepared to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes if you're arriving for dim sum on the weekend during the lunch hours. We had a fairly large party that required three tables and we were not sitting next to one another. The three tables were spaced apart because we had to wait for three separate tables to become available. Food is excellent and constantly coming out fresh and piping hot. Very good dim sum which is why it is always busy. Just be prepared to wait and for it to be very very busy.
