After a disappointing brunch at the landmark restaurant down the street (complete with a warm Bloody Mary that had been sitting too long on the counter and a meal with a long hair in it), my friend and I stopped here before heading home. What a great surprise! The drinks were awesome, as were the street tacos. We've decided this is going to be our new happy hour spot from here on out. Thank you for turning a disappointing day into a wonderful one, Joe Marty's!
Ordered Marty burger and to my complete astonishment it was the most excellent burger that has ever blessed my lips. Bun was soft and perfect, burger was cooked to absolute perfection and the condiments were nothing short of the lords work. Joe Marty's is the best restaurant in town and Guy Fieri ain't shit. And the cook was hot af. #lit
First time here. Good energy, it was already busy right after work but we fortunately were able to get seated as soon as we arrived. The staff was friendly. The walls are filled with sports and Italian memorabilia. Gangster films were playing on the two tvs near the bar area, which further added to the nostalgia the restaurant is attempting to invoke within its patrons. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. The food itself was average despite providing hearty servings. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and the eggplant was slightly mushy for my preference. The gnocchi was good, but nothing that separates itself from other gnocchi I’ve had in the past. Overall, this is a great place to meet people for happy hour after work or to have a quick meal, but I wouldn’t consider this place fine dining.
We sat at the bar and the bartender, Austin, was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious and came out quickly. We got the prawn linguine and the meat lasagna. Both were amazing! The owner, Mike, also made us a special mint drink to try that was very smooth. Very nice guy! Wonderful to see him personally checking on guests, which you dont see often. Will definitely come again. Great atmosphere. Over all a great experience!
Formerly Joe Marty's now Sampino's Kitchen where I enjoyed an early dinner at 5pm on a Thursday. I was not disappointed. Looking forward to Minestrone Soup, but not on the Menu since Covid.
Was suggested to have Prawn Linguine. It was amazing! The wine broth was so tasty.
Prawns were sweet. I will be back with friends. Lots of Happy Faces.
At 6pm the place was packed. Noticed a 90 minute suggested time-limit per guests as the place is fairly small.
My favorite Italian restaurant! From authentic Italian dishes to delicious fun drinks from the bar, there’s something for everyone. Everything they have here is great so no matter what you order you’ll love it! My personal favorites are the prawn linguine and the decaf espresso martini.
Great staff, environment and food!!
Late last week my daughter and I stopped by Joe Marty's. I have walked by the place on my way to Tower Café many times. We decided to go in and see if a table was available. It was about 7:30 pm on Thursday night, the restaurant was almost full. We were seated right away. Ambiance was great, loved the baseball memorabilia. We shared the Calamari which I recommend (pairs well with a glass of Chianti). My daughter had the lobster ravioli, and she let me have a couple of bites. I had the Pesto Gnocchi, also excellent. Big portions, so I recommend bringing your appetite (or getting a to-go box). Will definitely be back!
Haven’t been there in a really long time! Went there to celebrate early birthday. Service was great and attentive. I had the cherry lemon drop and the chicken piccata. Loved the lemon taste in the pasta dish. Pretty large portion, definitely leftovers for later.
Came here with girlfriends to celebrate birthdays. When I tell you the food is DELICIOUS! I’m quite a cook myself but Sampino’s is an experience. The food is so fresh. You can actually taste the love. The service is equally great. I can’t believe I had never heard of this restaurant! The Salmon is some of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone loved their food. Sampino the owner is so sweet! If you’re lucky he may come out the kitchen long enough to say hello.
Nothing but 5 stars across the board. It's a step back in time walking through the door as sports memorabilia and family history decorates the walls. A ton of choices on the menu and a row of classic cocktails to start. Sampino's is a super welcoming restaurant that we have been to a few times now and we keep coming back! It's not just for the great food but also for the care and attention given by the staff. This has quickly become our go to neighborhood spot.
First time in this restaurant. We went to celebrate my friends birthday and let me tell you, It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Since we arrived, all the staff was great. I ordered some pasta 😋, recommended by the waiter, and it was delicious. Amazing wines, food, and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. It's definitely a to go restaurant if you are in Sacramento. Thank you.
Great atmosphere with sports memorabilia both national and local. The food is great and service was both very professional and personal.
