The store totes that their steak and cheese was voted the best in New England and to be honest I am not sure why. I'm not saying that my sandwich was bad (it definitely wasn't) but I have had way better. Regardless the staff was friendly and the food was good, I will definitely go back

Best italian around, the iconic Maine italian imo - add hot pepper relish. Steak and cheese is very solid as well. The calzone is an underrated hit. To be honest probably everything on the menu is great, I haven't tried nearly enough.

I never leave Maine without stopping by Saco Bay Variety for some of Sonny's great menu items. Nicest people, great service, and tremendous food at reasonable prices. Try a breakfast sandwich, or a delicious cheeseburger. You can't go wrong if you try this cozy variety store.

This is a wonderful family owned establishment. Sonny and staff make you feel welcome. The food is great. Best place to get an Italian sandwich. They also have a great selection of wine and cigars.

I don't often give a five star rating. I have been here many times and I have found service to be outstanding. The staff as well as the owners are personable and friendly.
The food is consistently good and prices are reasonable for the quality. The store itself could probably use a facelift, but there's something about the obvious age I find appealing. A neighborhood store that's been there forever because they do it right.
