Excellent food and presentation, very consistent, and a most pleasant atmosphere, unlike anything around for miles and miles, worth your time to get here. Can get crazy busy and as at any restaurant, this can be problematic as I found the other day at a late breakfast. Didn't bother me in the least though, found it to be a relaxing place even in the midst of the bustle and the food was more than worth the wait, as was the coffee. Real food served really well in Rowlett, who'd'a'thunk'it?
Six of us met for drinks and appetizers on a Thursday evening. I had a Peach Bellini and it was very good and my husband had a margarita. He loved his margarita. Others enjoyed their drinks as well.
For appetizers we tried the duck wings, calamari, 2 cheese platters, nachos, and the crab cakes. I don't usually eat crab cakes unless I'm in Maryland, but they were good. Nice lump crabmeat is used and it's not all bread.
Calamari was good. I like small sizes as they aren't so chewy. The sauce was very good.
My husband's favorite was the duck. He loved the sweeter sauce for dipping. I preferred the spicier one. Both were good.
The nachos were very interesting. Fun flavors , but glad we had other choices.
The cheese platters were excellent. My favorite was the goat cheese spread on a baguette slice and then I sprinkled dried cranberries on top. The baked Brie was very good too.
Our waiter was extremely attentive and very accommodating. Shannon, the manager also visited with us and made sure we were enjoying ourselves.
Next, we'll meet for breakfast!
