Alejandro's Grill & Cantina

Alejandro's used to be fantastic -- my friends live nearby and whenever I came to town, we'd always go several times. Sadly, they cut their menu by at least 50%. It's so easy to have vegetarian options at a Mexican place -- and they used to have killer veggie fajitas -- but now they have very few veg options, few options altogether really, and make no offers to accommodate by adding veg to the fajitas. It's almost like it's a point of principle. It doesn't make a lot of sense, given that hundreds of potential new customers just moved into the new apartments across the street. If as a former employee said the happy hour is slow -- and you have a ton of potential new customers -- maybe you should try to entice them!

WORST Food & service I have EVER had in my 45 yrs of life. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant & our waitress not once came to check on us. I paid extra for a side of special rice and didn't get it. We had to track her down after we were done eating TWICE because the 1st time she was too busy on her phone to pay attention. DO NOT recommend this place at all! The food was awful. I wouldn't have even left a tip but the machine gave me no option not to. NOT HAPPY!!!!

Awful! To start they sat us at a table that had absolutely not light; we moved ourselves. Then I noticed why it was so dark in there because it’s DIRTY. I didn't like that there were dead bugs all in the windows & hanging off the blinds when I ate. Our server was the bar tender, took our order & never returned, we had to go to her. Mind you there were other servers in the restaurant not just her. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money on this location. The shrimp was rotten, & had to be sent back. The queso didn’t even taste like queso, tasted old & to be honest, don’t know what the flavor was; let’s go with “nasty”. The guys in the kitchen were all on their phone so no wonder we were eating old food. If you are looking to get sick, go here or heed my advice & avoid at all cost! We eat at the one in Royse City all the time & it is by far superior to this location, take your business there, it’s with the drive!

I ate here for “Taco Tuesday” 😁 since it is easiest to find vegan 🌱 options at Tex-Mex restaurants; however, they did not have even a vegetarian menu. Thankfully 😅 our server, Kaylee ( who was super sweet 😊) was vegetarian and recommended some customizations I could do 🙏🏾. She recommended the spinach salad with dates which is what I should have got 🤷🏾‍♀️😜😂 but I ended up getting black beans, rice, and corn tortillas to celebrate 🎉 Taco 🌮 Tuesday correctly 🙌🏾. The food was great which is why I gave it 4 stars but the lighting was very poor and of course I had to dock a star for not having a dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu.

Visited on a Wednesday evening and their daily special was $2.50 house margaritas and $5.99 enchiladas. We sat on the patio which was small, only about 5 tables. It was not busy and the service was quick. The queso dip was good, nothing special only cheese. The salsa had cilantro which I don't care for and the server was kind enough to bring some salsa without cilantro. The chicken Enchiladas with sour cream were good but the refried beans were on the salty side. Everything was delicious. Would definitely visit again.
