Pretty much the best Mexican food around, but it's Oaxacan - not your standard gut punch greasy Mexican food. Food quality and presentation are superb. The servers can be overwhelmed when busy, but flag one down and they will quickly provide. The ceviche is amazing as is the Chile Verde. Pictured here is the Ceviche (we dug in before I took a picture, but it was piled high), Chicken Enmoladas, and Traditional Wet Burrito with steak. It's an old building and the A/C system is a bit lacking. The food is so good, I don't really care about the people whining about the A/C. Go somewhere else if you care more about A/C than good food.
I try to make it here every time I’m in the Rocklin area.
My favorites are the Tacos de cecina con chapulines and the Chile relleno con mole rojo
First time familiarizing with Oaxacan cuisine and the food was delicious. Our waitress was extremely nice and the food came out quickly.

What an Amazing place to eat one of the most delicious food ever.
The guacamole tasted like heaven fresh. The salmon burrito was just right. Not too spicy and not too blunt. The desert flan was sweet but not too sweet.. Loved the taste. Definitely must visit again.
Really enjoyed the food. The burrito was unconventional which I really. Filled with pastor, mushrooms, carrots, and more. I chose no potatoes but I'm sure they'd be good in it.

So delicious highly recommend. Date night last week busy Friday night service was excellent 👍
We had their Oaxaca Style Ceviche, Oaxaca's Favorite and the Tlayuda. All awesome dishes. We also had their Pomegranate Wine Margarita and they were tasty. Their staff was very helpful and very welcoming. Strongly recommend visiting Mezcalito. I know we'll be back soon.
Update 5/15...
I came back. I have the Carnitas plate. Very deliciuous. Meat was so tender with some crispy edges. Fantastic. My friends had the Tacos de Chapulines (Grasshoppers) and the Sopes of Chorizo. Both were excellent. Added a Sopa Azteca, Flan and Churros with Vanilla Ice Creat. It was a great early lunch.
We ordered from the breakfast menu (available until 12pm) - huevos rancheros and the breakfast chile relleno with two eggs, cooked to order. Both were absolutely delicious!
Google maps had us drive past the place, so keep your eyes open.
The ceviche was the best I've had; barbacoa was perfect! You should try them both!!!
I loved how different this Mexican food was. The ceviche was good but seemed to be missing ingredients and needed multiple types of seafood. I loved the salsa and chips. The chile relleno Was very good. The fajita plate was ok the meat was pre cooked and cheese was added to top and reheated. The trip tip was over cooked and sliced the wrong way. Overall this place is much better than most restaurants. Could be a 10 out of 10 if everything was fresh. Example TRI tip was medium rare and being cook in the back.
