The perfect dinning experience. The Rocklin, Roseville area is filled with chain restaurants. Dinner at Via Roma is special because:
• Great food. Always fresh and tasty. Mario studied his craft in Italy. They always use fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference.
• The owners; Mario and Trisha treat their Customers like family. They have a vested interest to make their restaurant successful and they do care, unlike some corporate owned chains.
• Wine. It's typical for a restaurant to over-charge for wine. Via Roma pours some great wines at a reasonable price. Trisha had recently returned from Italy with a vast knowledge of Italian wines. Ask her to make a recommendation. We have never been disappointed.
• Service. Unlike the chains who drop off your food then come back in five minutes to ask "Is it still tasting OK, or are you still working on it", Via Roma servers are attentive without being pushy. Dining should not be a hurried experience. If you believe dinner should be ordered, served, eaten, and paid for in less than 45 minutes consider a fast food chain!
• Ambiance. Not too small or too large. Just intimate enough to make it a nice data night restaurant.
• Price. Considering the quality of the food, wine, service and ambiance I'd say dining at Via Roma is a great value.
Really good!. I have been to this restaurant many times now and never been disappointed. True, it has never been super busy because I have been there at off times but the food is really good and the waiters are very personable!
They have the freshest ceasar salad I've ever had (very lemony, yum!), fabulous minestrone soup (super homemade flavor) and the pastas are delicious...my favorites are the pesto tortellini and the spaghetti casserole which sounds odd but is decadent! Imagine spaghetti noodles tossed w/ cheeses, in a gratin dish with two huge meatballs, all smothered in more cheese and baked to perfection!
Very good! We ate a dish that was not on the menu, basically baked spaghetti and meatballs. Noodles weren't overcooked, meatballs had sausage in them, made a great combo with the fresh made sauce. Appetizer bread was great! Service is first rate, he made us feel like family- just what I like when eating Italian food! We'll be back for sure!
It's alright. The food is alright but a bit overpriced. Might taste better if they charged less per plate.
Best Italian in Placer Co. Great local restaurant with warm and friendly owners. Mario makes the best pizza and his selection of pasta dishes covers a nice variety. Their wine list is short, but a good selection and variety (also good beer choices). The Bruschetta and the Calamari are amazing appetizers. I can't just highlight my favorite pasta because I like them all - but the Ravioli and Lasagne are especially good. My family and I are frequent diners and we never get tired of the food.
Best New Resturant. What a find! Trish & Mario put out great food always! New and always clean. My favorites are Mario's special pizza and the caneloni is to dye for! Out of the way location makes this a sleeper, but their building loyal customers fast. Tell them Dan & Linda sent you!!

If you are a foodie or just want a new culinary experience this place is a must eat. The lasagna, chicken Parmigiano, the pizza, the meatballs, everything I'd delicious! The sauce is so bright and flavorful, the pasta is melt in your mouth amazing! If you just ate the meatballs you would be in heaven. Then the topper was the pizza was scrumptious. The crust was so good you could eat it plain. Please eat here!
The spaghetti here is out of this world, probably the best marinara sauce I’ve tasted! If I could purchase a jar of it I would. My husband got the dish with meatballs which are ok, I feel like they have too much of an italian sausage taste to them whereas I like mine more beef flavoured. So I got my spaghetti without any meatballs. I come here all the time for the spaghetti even as takeout. The bread is also very yummy and soft! Didn’t get to try dessert this time because of how full we were but next time for sure!
What a great find, a very nice surprise. Clean friendly atmosphere. The owner greeted us in. I had the special of the day, cioppino. It was authentic and delicious! We will be back.
Absolutely loved this place! I came here with my family and we had such a great time! Everything we had to eat was so delicious! It had a very homemade taste of real Italian food. Customer service was also great with super friendly staff. The canoli was good with a hint of lemon flavor. I would definitely come here again for some amazing food!
The food, atmosphere, and staff are just amazing! The pasta was freshly made and they make their own bread as well. They owner greets every table and tells the specials. The staff is very friendly and made sure we had all the free bread we could want and our waters were never empty. I can not recommend this place enough!
My son wanted lasagna after golfing so went on Google to check for lasagna near where we were. Via Roma popped up and had very high ratings so we were off to try it out.
We both ordered a Caesar salad that was just ok. Next came the main course and the reason for our visit, the lasagna. The lasagna was pretty good but was piping hot from the oven. Not a complaint, just an observation.
We both tore into the lasagna and dipped our fresh bread into the sauce and smacked our lips to express our approval.
We both finished with tiramisu which was also very good.
I would definitely go again. The people next to us had some meals that also looked delicious. I don’t think they would have liked me trying to take a pic of their meals so will have to try it another day.
First time here and it was very good! Service was stupendous, and the sauce was delicious. It's very busy here, it seemed like we were the only non-reservation, so I would suggest booking in advance if you can.
Tried Via Roma for the first time, as I am new to the area. What a treat! Pizza was quite excellent with very good toppings and quality cheese. Could not have asked for more, appreciate the courteous service and great food.
