Wonderful historic house in downtown Rochester that has been preserved in time! If your interested in farm to table fresh food and great Michigan beers this is the place for you!
We went to the Chapman House to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything we had was fantastic and the service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The cheese plate was excellent with a good assortment of cheeses, fruits, mustard and marmalade. The cauliflower soup was probably my favorite, with a hint of curry and golden raisins. The branzino entree was delicious and perfectly cooked and the glazed beets were so tasty. The mushroom stroganoff was made from scratch and the wheat noodles were great. We will absolutely be back to the Chapman House and can't wait for another special occasion!
This is the not so hidden "hidden gem" of downtown Rochester. With a lavish back courtyard and two floors to explore and dine in you won't be disappointed. There is a fireplace on each floor for those chilly winter nights and a piano on the first floor that they will allow you to play (if you are good, no sucky musicians haha!). The cheese platter had a lovely selection and the New York strip wasn't too bad for not being a ribeye! Yes, that's a compliment. Our server Terrance was a delight and very knowledgeable about the menu. Will be coming back for sure.
I've been here a few times and have loved each experience. The food is amazing, and the service is really good. We came here for brunch for the first time today and will definitely be back. The donuts melt in your mouth, they're so good! The patio atmosphere is great and did I mention, there's booze! The food quality is so much better than anywhere in Rochester.
The atmosphere was beautiful, we sat outside in what felt like a private-garden setting. The wait staff was very attentive to our every need. The coffee was especially delicious and our meals for brunch were excellent. We would definitely come back here again. They exceeded our expectations.
Me and my wife try out a new restaurant ever single week, few weeks ago we decided to try the Chapman house and let me tell you that I was not disappointed one single bit. As soon as you walk in the building you feel a warm cozy atmosphere. The wait staff was so pleasant and nice that I had to compliment them to the manager. The food was totally awesome, my wife loved her plate as well. I rate this place a five out of five 🌟, a must go if your near the area.
