Cordello's Pizza

We stopped here late night on our way back from a gig on a weekend late night, with only about an hour before closing, and the lady at the counter gave us amazing customer service. She was happy to tell us what were the best vegetarian items on the menu were, and to steer us away from the items that wouldn't be 'as good' in quality at that visit, and explain why. She listened to what we normally enjoyed, and gave us good recommendations. I appreciate it very much when staff are candid about what the kitchen can and can't do very well at a given time, and she very much helped us get a meal we enjoyed. We shared onion rings and a vegetarian calzone. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, very hot inside and crisp. The calzone was stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and onions, and it so large we could only finish half of it between the two of us --and we were starving as we hadn't had a meal since lunch. Even though she was getting ready to close, and no other customers came in while we were there-- we were encouraged to relax and enjoy our food, and she and her husband chatted with us like we were old friends. It was very welcoming and enjoyable, along with really good food. We don't usually go that way out of the city, but for that kind of service and good food, we'd make a special trip!
