Nice chill spot to take your family or friends. Inside seating and patio dining. I ordered to go the BBQ Chicken Philly sub with steak fries and corn fritters. I also ordered a orange dreamsicle adult float while I waited for my order. The drink was great. My sub was bland no seasoning just the toppings and very light bbq sauce

I took my eighty-year-old folks here just after 4pm on a weekday, and we all liked our food. The atmosphere was very pleasant except that the music playing overhead was too loud for us to talk. Otherwise it's a good place for a casual afternoon meal at a reasonable price. They have indoor and outdoor bars and seating.

- good was really good, everything was fresh and had a great flavor. The chicken cheesesteak was really good and I enjoyed the baked beans. - service was quick and waitress was helpful. - prices normal for the area. - place was clean and organized. - wasn't busy when going around lunchtime. - nice atmosphere. - parking was ok for the area only had to walk like 5minutes to get here - overall a good first experience at this location, I'd recommend.

Sunday night at 8:30 PM Pork tacos, pork nachos, and corn fritters along with a couple of beers. Most times you get nachos where the toppings only fill half the chips. Each chip in this order was covered with toppings. Good sign! I wanted to call out the particular cook that prepared our meal, but the bartender wanted everyone to have credit...so Be it. That tells me that they work as a team and everyone gets credit for good service and vice versa. They have a good variety of beers and ciders on tap, and the couple of things we ordered were delicious. I would recommend this place again and again in a heartbeat! Our server was friendly and quick!

AND Vegan BBQ? I've had BBQ pulled pork and brisket in many states across the country and several locations overseas. Oak & Apple ranks in the top 3. That said, usually a BBQ joint will nail the sauces over the tenderness of the meat or the presentation, but this place is top knotch in all categories. I came in here scouting the Shockoe Bottom area of Richmond near the canal district for restaurants to cater events and stopped here because I saw that their outdoors section was pet friendly and welcoming. After living in Austin, TX and California, I learned to see this as a positive reflection a restaurant that has implications for managerial decisions in the front and back (dining area and kitchen) I was not disappointed. My waitress was an excellent conversationalist and in with the hip part of the RVA scene. She liked my cowboy hat, which also got favorable comments from a few passersby as I later stood outside. This place, as mentioned above, also has several vegan BBQ sandwich options as all of them can have your carnivorous fair or the vegan jackfruit option. My wife has been vegan since childhood and was very impressed. I have sampled a lot of vegan options, and this raised the bar far over anything I can get at home. This place is a hit with the locals and the local store owners I met. The owner has done well to establish a reputation as a fair and honest business owner in the community ~Zack
