Best high end Italian restaurant in Portland! It is expensive but the food is top quality, drinks are flavorful and creative, and the atmosphere is wonderful. This is a great spot for date nights or impressing out of town guests.

Solo is good. It’s not my favorite in Portland, but it is good Italian food. The service and atmosphere are great! You can usually get a reservation last minute, too. They have a great wine list. When it comes to the pasta, it’s not my favorite— we’ve noticed it’s lacked flavor and the portions are small. It is homemade and fresh, but always seems to be lacking something and certainly not worth the price. However, dessert always seems to pull through for Solo. Their Cannoli and Tiramisu are out of this world. I’d recommend coming to sit at the bar for apps, drinks and dessert.

This place was very nice and delicious! The atmosphere was nice and not too loud or cramped. The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. We came as a bachelorette dinner and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated. The desserts were beautiful and the drinks were very tasty. Thank you to our waitress, Sarah!

The quality and taste of our dinner was definitely worth the price. Everything came out great - best angel hair pasta I've ever had! Atmosphere is nice and the service was good despite coming in a little later in the night.

It's difficult to overstate how delicious the food at Solo Italiano is. The food is expensive, no doubt, but is some of the best we've ever had. The fried bread was heavenly, a perfect way to start a meal. The pasta dishes were also perfectly cooked, and I especially loved the ravioli. It's easy to recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland. Even though the city is filled to the brim with fabulous restaurants, Solo Italiano takes the cake!

High-end regional Italian - this is Genovese cuisine and you will not find the same variety you would at other Italian restaurants. The menu is broken down into a version of the classic Italian meal structure - crudo, antipasti, insalata, primi, and secondi. This is not a place for you and your partner or you and your dining party to each order an entree, this is about communal dining and sharing multiple small plates. For me, the stars were the focaccia with prosciutto and burrata and the panzanella spagliata (one of the best salad dishes I’ve ever had). The ingredients are clearly high quality and this is food you take time to slow down and enjoy - there are subtleties to these dishes that you will miss otherwise. Great wine selection and knowledgeable/attentive staff - I will be back!

Celebrated my birthday weekend in Portland. Researched best places to eat in town and Solo Italiano came up. I wanted to celebrate my actual birthday here as i love italian food.
Food and drinks were phenomenal. You can tell they make the pasta fresh. Our server was so nice and the best part is they didnt make a scene when the brought my birthday dessert! That's my kind of celebration!
