The absolute best tasting teriyaki lunch special in Portland.
Google
I usually get the chicken bento because it is always fresh and the veggies are always cooked perfectly. The prices are reasonable so when I'm on that side of town and hungry for teriyaki Mashita is the place I go to.

Pretty good food and very fast.

Very small hole-in-the-wall place with just a few seats available, but don't let that stop you from getting your food to go!
Quality food with big portions!
Super fast, super good, and super nice woman taking orders!

Eat here if you like teriyaki! You pay for good quality food, not ambiance, and Mashita Teriyaki delivers! It gets busy at lunch because it is so good, not a negative! You know what kind of restaurants do not get busy? Bad ones! I just had lunch and I would still eat an order of the spicy chicken right now.

It looks like this place is going to be a real dive from the outside. But once on the inside it looks fairly nice though a little old. The menu is small and very basic but everything on the menu that we tried was really good. A great deal as well as fantastic food.

You can tell this place was amazing 10 years ago. Staff and the building is currently run down, tired and exhausted. The chicken was as good as any I've had around. The teriyaki was acceptable. The rice wasnt as sticky as it should be. The rice wasnt bad, I've had much better. The salad tasted like all raw bock choy without any dressing whatsoever. $0.50 soda refills which is uncommon anymore. You get what you pay for and this place is not expensive.

Run-down interior and exterior, but the food is pretty good. The prices are decent. The food isn't over-the-top good, nor the prices really low and great, to call this place a hidden gem. But if you like chicken teriyaki, it will definitely satisfy your cravings. It's decent/good, but not just above average. The staff is fairly nice and helpful as well.
The chicken has that nice char that you hope for with teriyaki. The teriyaki sauce is good, but definitely behooves you to add more on before you take your food home (presuming you take it home, either way, if you're eating there, there's plenty of bottles of teriyaki around you can squirt more on your food). The rice is really good, and you get a lot of the normal cabbage/veg mixture that makes it seem like you're getting more food than you are. I eat some of that veggie mix, but never all of what they give you, and we all know it's just filler.
My boyfriend gets the spicy chicken option, which is just teriyaki sauce mixed with a hot sauce of some kind. He likes it, and is always happy when I offer to stop and get some.
