Delicious tacos, maybe the best in town. I had one each of carnitas and al pastor with their salsa. The meat was juicy and flavorful.

I visited Portland for the first time. I haven’t had good Mexican food in a while. The first time I got a torta de asada. El pan estaba calientito y suave. La carne sabrosa y tierna. I loved it so much I came back two days later for a torta de al pastor. Same quality! Y las salsas estaban picantes, how a salsa should be. Whenever I’m in Portland, I will definitely go to El Brasero!! My mouth waters just thinking about it.

Chicken enchiladas and the Gauc were so delicious. Everything was homemade and fresh. El Brasero sets a high bar for authentic Mexican in Portland.

We ordered the soy chorizo burrito and it was awesome - tons of flavour, great texture and big portion. Might have been a bit better with some veggies inside but we didn't mind. If ur a vegan it is a must try. The tortilla was fresh and homemade - unbelievably good! The rice was ok but the beans were also great. Make sure you get the salas... they were fantastic. We will be back.

Amaaaaazing tacos! Every time I go I am transported to Mexico City tacos. My usual is Pastor and Carnitas single tacos and its just delicious, 4 or 5 will usually do it, with an Horchata agua fresca. They also own the churro stand that's next door and the churros transport me to Coyoacán, the land of the churros in Mexico. (churros have been closed and open due to Covid but you might be in luck and see them open). I miss Mexico su much and if that is your experience too don't look any further, this is the place that'll take you there with every bite. No photos... to good to stop for a photo.

Give it a try. The vegan mushroom fajita burrito was amazing! The carnitas street taco w the green sauce was yuuuum! The chicken meat was good. The nachos were just meh, bc the chips are like Tostitos, but the steak street taco run of the mill. Will go back- really fresh tasting, made to order, huge menu.

A chile relleno burrito always has the chance of being special with the treasure inside of a hot cheese-filled poblano pepper. El Brasero in the Cartopia food cart pod had exactly the hidden gem we were looking for. Under a hot mid-day sun we found it by venturing deep into the far-NE corner of the pod past the encroaching bamboo beds. When we finally got ahold of their chile relleno burrito, we felt like we discovered one of the best hidden treasures of the Portland food cart scene. This burrito includes refried beans, rice, and sour cream surrounded the chile relleno - a poblano pepper filled with cheese - the gooey cheesy center running almost the entire length of the massive, delicious food brick. It slowly disappeared as we drizzled their mild green jalapeño salsa over it and passed the burrito back and forth. We forgot about the long hot day, and our tire rotation happening down the street, and enjoyed our unique, handheld lunch. El Brasero has held its Cartopia spot since 2007. The chile relleno burrito - and the line to order - is proof of why they continue to stay.

Worthy little joint every thing is good. Nothing will blow your mind. Its not the cheapest but hey, a good taco is worth a few cents more. On that note they make fresh which is great but it takes a little longer than you might expect, but it's worth it in my opinion. Also the ladies who run it are amazing, seriously good people.

Had some great nachos. Very friendly. Take a picture with sombreros while you wait for your food.
