Southeast Grind

This place was really great. This was my first time here, and I instantly felt like I had been a 'regular' the whole time. The staff is really down to Earth, and the vibe seems to be very artistic with lots of young working people on their laptops or sketchpads. This is a great place to unwind with a drink and creative friend. They're also open 24/7 so feel free to check them out whenever you'd like. There's a community board filled with lots of services too. I hadn't gotten the change to read more on it, but I know I'll be back soon.

Always a great place to stop in. Lots of unique drinks and great food. 24/7 really means 24/7 here. Been in as late as 3am and the staff is still stellar and laid back. To-go and dine in options. Lots of couches and sofas to chill at in groups. Great for setting up a laptop and getting work done. Been here before and will definitely be back.

Great music, comfortable and very Portland vibe. At 1am on a weekday, it's quiet with soft music and hushed voices. I absolutely adore this place. If you're ever troubled by life and need a place to think, come here and exist a little bit. For the photosensitive: it's not too bright. Enjoy it! UPDATE: Just saw the sweetest interaction between a patient employee and a tired older gentleman deciding on snacks. I change my mind. 100/5 stars. You guys are amazing.

The coffee is great. Open 24 hours. Great snacks and food. The atmosphere is relaxed. Easy to kick back with a laptop and get work done or watch movies/shows on your tablet. Read, draw, write, whatever you're into, the people there are generally quiet and low key. Local art is always on display and for sale.

I come here whenever I need to burn through the night finishing assignments and studying for exams. The music is dynamic with few breaks which is perfect for quiet work. The tea selection is just varietal enough and the drink specials never disappoint. The staff are seriously one of a kind in both friendliness and skill. Everyone who comes in is warmly welcomed, treated like a friend, and served quality drinks. As long as you buy something and aren’t rude you can stay for many hours. As a result of the inviting environment, an occasional person will get a little too comfortable and their private behaviors come out - I witnessed a couple having sex in the corner once. They moved to the bathroom after a while and I had an unnerving revelation that the really cool painted bathrooms probably camouflage some scary stuff that goes beyond typical bathroom filth. I’ve also had my wallet stolen. This place is still the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. There are always a few characters that want to see the world burn and they are just as welcome at SE Grind as me, and I guess, in the end, I kind of like that.

This is a really good place to go late at night when you want to get some work done. The establishment is very quiet despite it being busy. Coffee is good, but baristas on 12/8 seemed a little amateur, but was friendly. The ambient music is really nice. The only recommendation I have for this business is to replace the couch and chairs with more seating. Not very many people sit in them, they're not very sturdy, and there's no table for you to get work done near them. They're also kind of dirty. So if the business owner can read this, your establishment is awesome, just replace the couches/"comfy chairs".

Great coffee, great tea, friendly staff. It's super crowded sometimes during the day, but it's easy to see why. Being a 24hr establishment, there are homeless people who come in, and I've seen people who work there have friendly and civil interactions with them. That is something I admire for sure. They set decent boundaries so that nobody has space to be disruptive, but are generally kind, from what I've witnessed. The atmosphere is queer- and nerd- friendly, and all around, this is my favorite coffee shop in Portland.
