It all started with our routine Saturday morning walk with the dogs. After a long leisurely stroll with the dogs, we landed at Nossa Familia Coffee in the Pearl. As we ordered our coffee, the pastry case caught our attention. Each shelf was packed with delightfully looking savory sensations - so, we inquired. When the barista arrived at the 3rd shelf and declared "Savory Sweet Potato and Chickpea Hand Pie," I raised my hand (for no reason) After an awkward pause, I said, "We'll take 2, please, heated." The weather was turning toward fall, but the warm sunshine and inviting patio seemed the perfect place to sit and enjoy each other's company and taste this flaky triangular decadence. Weeks passed. With each visit to Nossa we'd order a Farina hand pie, ask were they were from, then eat ourselves into forgetting. Finally, a month later, on a quiet Saturday morning I had the notion (duh) to ask (again) then Google - Farina Bakery 🧐. This quickly led to an excursion on my Uber Eats app to (lo-and-behold 🤯) determine how often I could have Savory Sweet Potato & Chickpea hand pies delivered - like at my husband's place of work, (see photo) just because we want them! You'll read many a review about the quality of Farina's impossibly delicious Savory Sweet Potato & Chickpea Hand Pies and how layers of finely tuned pastry and a savory filling reminiscent of your childhood at grandma's house, dizzy from the aroma of everything fresh baked wafting through the house. It's the main reason we ❤️ Farina Bakery. Make it your reason too. Exceptionally talented bakers, you'll taste the love they have for artisanal masterclass baking - IN. EVERY. BITE. It doesn't end at the hand pie - dig deeper into the menu and tempt yourself with select, hand-crafted treats (the Pop Tart is 🔥)

Great community "hidden gem". Excellent selection of grab and go freshly made pastries - my favorite so far being the Apple Hand Pie and the Vegan Coffee Cake. Their chocolate chip cookies are also incredible. The business has great signage out front regarding loud noises indoors, their hours of operation and some awesome social flair. Staff is always kind and helpful. Definitely a great place to stop in to grab a quick treat or to place an order for an event.

Got the chickpea and sweet potato hand pie 🤌🏻 so delicious! Flaky dough, flavorful without being over spiced. Perfect lunch snack! Can't say how much I appreciate that they offer *multiple* savory options. Friendly staff! Appears to be predominantly a production site with counter service, which is fine by me! We absolutely love this local business. The macaroons are delicious and they do an amazing job with wedding cakes. We had our wedding cake put together as a macaroon tower and a small wedding cake at the top. Farina did an awesome job and our wedding cake was everything we envisioned. She’s detail oriented and has the ability to understand what the customer is trying to create. Also, Farina is always up for a challenge and willing to get creative. I’d highly recommend this business for enjoying a nice snack, wedding cake needs or similar requests. In addition to this location, one might find some of her macaroons at other local businesses so keep an eye out if you are looking to try some.

I knew when I opened the door and smelled that lovely sugared aroma that this shop would not disappoint. I purchased macarons and a slice of the vanilla almond raspberry cake (a very generous portion, btw). I shared with the young woman servicing me that I was visiting from NC. I didn’t realize until later that she added some extra macarons for me! So kind, thank you! The desserts were wonderful and I especially enjoyed the vanilla and blackberry rosemary macaron. Thank you for a memorable experience!
