I loved when this place was serving in house. Due to current restrictions only their retail chocolate is available for purchase, the drinks bar is closed ☹. But the drinking chocolate (3oz shot) was delicious, creamy, and so so chocolatey. Can't wait for them to open the drinks again!

We found this place from a travel book's recommendation and so glad we're did. Such a rare occasion when we're get to taste pure cacao in delicious hot chocolate. The ambient and service is so complimentary to the tasty drinks. We're also tried the icecream variation and felt in love with it. A must try when you visit Portland.

Had to stop at Cacao when I was in Portland. Fantastic experience. Loved the drinkable dark chocolate! I would do it again in a heartbeat if I ever get back to Portland.

My favourite drinking chocolate cafe. Haven't found a place like this, of the same high caliber and excellent variety, in all my travels (check my reviews and you'll see I am lucky enough to travel fairly widely). I recommend this place to any person that enjoys chocolate and visits Portland. The spicy chocolate is superb and my go to drink.

Cozy and chill place for warm chocolate. The indoor place has a warm decoration and good selection of chocolate. I ordered their drinking chocolate that comes in a flight of three flavors of drinking chocolate: original, cinnamon and spice. The drinking chocolate is not too sweet or bitter so it's perfect for a chill afternoon tea time.

A very classic chocolate shoppe in downtown. They are known for the drinking chocolate. Be aware that the portions are small. A "medium" is similar to a shot glass size. But it is so rich that anything larger would be too much! Their "everyday hot chocolate" is very good as well. Stop by for a warm drink on a cold day!

The most unbelievable drinking chocolate I’ve ever had. Get the trio for tasting but you’ll fall in love with the spicy dark one. It’s beyond imagination

Cacao was a great experience. The staff was super attentive and helpful. You should know walking into this place though, that this is real deal chocolate. It’s not cheap, but also because of that, it is incredible. The staff hooked us up and gave us some free chocolate. They also have ice cream from salt and straw, and mochas made from their own chocolate that they sell.

Great selection of chocolate from around the region, country and world. The space is nice for sitting to have a cup of hot chocolate. The staff was friendly and ready to give us a taste of anything they were offering. A small selection of truffles from regional confectioners are on offer - I didn’t try them as they did not appeal to me.

A few of us went to Cacao for dessert. We all had some form of drinking cacao and we all enjoyed it. They are very rich. Don't get a 12oz if you can't handle it.
