Street Food. The man Gus, George, Peter, not sure what his name is- other than he is funny and enjoyable. I never gone in Labad's, but I do get a gyro and baklava whenever they have their street food set up. Price is right, food is good, and worth the stop.
Authentic Middle Eastern at Great Prices. I recently visited Labad's for the first time while visiting Pittsburgh with some friends and family. We all agreed that the food was exceptional -- homemade and flavorful. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was outstanding! I will definitely return here during future trips. The restaurant in the Strip District is in the back of Labad's grocery store -- a great find!
A second location is opening or recently opened nearby that will serve both lunch and dinner. I have been to many Middle Eastern restaurants, and this is definitely one of my favorites.
This is one of PGH's best kept secrets. The hummus was delicious & beautifully presented, with warm pita. The gyros were wonderfully full, fresh, & also delicious. And the stuffed grape leaves were gloriously hot & lovely.
To top it all off, the rolled baklava was delightfully sweet, crunchy, & with a hint of chocolate.
The service was prompt & attentive, as clearly the proprietor cares very much about the food.
Good falafel sandwich - but their baba ganoosh is killer - smokey, lemony, garlicky.
Great middle eastern gyro.... But they need to heat up the pita a little
Such good Gyro’s the meat is so fresh and flavorful and juicy. The ratio of toppings to the meet is perfect and they slice everything perfectly. Pita was delicious too!! The staff is so nice every time I walk by I had to get a Gyro and it was probably the best Gyro I’ve ever had!
baklava is my favorite dessert, so I try it every chance I get. This is very probably the best baklava I've ever had. Very sweet man working the grill
The best gyros in Pittsburgh? Yes.
Best prices? Yes.
Friendliest? Absolutely.
This hidden gem is a must try in the Strip District. If you see the food stand out front, they are super friendly and you need to buy food from them.
The owner is a very nice man. We spoke for almost an hour . Buy all of your middle eastern food and things from here !
Got Baba ghanoush at Labad's and it was the best I had outside of Israel. It was smoky and creamy and very flavorful. The man at the store was extremely helpful and walked me through several of their food items and how fresh they are and how long they are kept at the store. I will definitely come back to try their Tabouleh, tzatziki and other fresh items.
Baba ganoush is so good! And the staff is so nice. Helped me improve my at home attempts at baba ganoush when I mentioned how much better theirs was. Would recommend!
The sidewalk stand here issues the best gyros and baklava in the city. I embarked on a mission to try every gyro in the city over the course of the spring and after multiple revisits I’ve named this one the number one gyro in the city and likely the world. The fellow who serves them up is a genuine humble and friendly individual who makes the experience even better.
The gyros are so good, make sure to try one!
The man who runs this shop is wonderful, and extremely helpful! He helped us pick out some new spices we have never tried before. The Syrian 5 spice is delicious! Next time we are in Pittsburgh we will be stopping by again!
This place has some very special items. My favorite is the pre-made halawa. It is so good! I seek this place out every time I go to the Strip. The owners are very nice, too. They talk to you and are very helpful.
