Comfort food at its finest!. Superb matzo soup, the cup size was huge. Crisp potato latkes, the best I have ever had outside of home. Smoked meat was tender and juicy. I can't wait to go back!

Excellent!. This is a nice concept by the Pamela folks. I had the Upstreet dip & my girlfriend had the kosher hot dog. Our server was prompt, giving us our drinks immediately, and walked us through the menu. It took only a few minutes for our orders to come out. The brisket was perfectly cooked and the au jus complimented the sandwich very well. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Taste of New York!. I am happy to be a transplanted New Yorker...not being a multi-millionaire.
Nu outdoes the deceased Rhoda's and Kazanky's.
The best mushroom barley I have ever eaten...and I make a pretty good
one myself.
A wonderful Montreal Meat sandwich.
And amazing service! (No, I don't go out go out for the service, but
poor service can spoil a meal...and good service is rare enough to
be a joy.
If this is your kind of food, go!

Spot ON. I will be impeccable with my words and share in a positive direction...because thats me and what should be given. ;) Kudos to NU for something different in Pittsburgh. This upscale friendly Deli offers a refreshing and unique twist to your basic soup and sandwich. The smoked meat sandwich and the jewish penicilin are heavenly and comforting. I look forward to returning and experiencing more of the creative and delicious combinations that my pallet so wonderfully received!

Smallman? Ya if you feel like waiting for 45 minutes for an ok at best, overpriced sandwich. Nu is way better and fairly priced, despite what they say.

Overall good. More out of curiosity than hunger I decided to try Nu for an early dinner. My experience was mostly positive. First of all I dislike the name: Nu sounds more like a posh Asian place rather than a sort of Jewish style restaurant and bistro once again doesn't reflect this place. The decor is rather cold but the seats were comfortable. I ordered an eggcream which was delicious follwed by kreplach and a brisket platter. The kreplach I received were odd to me and unlike anything my grandma used to make. I received two very large triangle shaped fried "pasties" topped with gribenes (fried chicken cracklings) with a filling of chopped meat that was tasteless. I didn't care for these kreplach. This was followed by a large platter of brisket on a very thick slice of challah topped by kishke and gravy - now this was delicious! So...to summarize I really enjoyed most of my meal; prices were comparable with other restaurants in the area, portions were large, service was excellent and the open kitchen was spotless. I will go again.

Nu is right next to Pamela's (pancakes!) and is run by the same people. Apparently, 'nu' is Yiddish for "Well?" "What's up?" or "So?"  It's cute inside, wood tables and chairs, though a little close together, there's a chalkboard of daily specials, and pictures and explanations of various Jewish foods on the walls. Those were much app

We've been here twice now and absolutely loved it. The Reuben is excellent, piled high with thinly sliced meat and sauerkraut - the only thing missing is dill pickle on the side. The shakshuka is also super tasty and well-spiced. The entrees are delicious, but what is really great is the nosh table. Once you order your entree you have free access to anything on the buffet, and there are lots of things to choose from. Our last visit had several different breads, latke hush puppies, chopped liver (which I wasn't sure about at first, but loved!), cooked greens, mac and cheese, and several desserts among other things I'm forgetting. The service is friendly and excellent, not at all rushed. They're only open on weekends from 10-4, but it's definitely worth the wait through the week. If only the people waiting in line next door for Pamela's knew what they're missing!

I can't believe people stand in line to eat over priced eggs at Pam's next door. This place has the best brunch in squirrel Hill. There's a table set up included with your meal that has pastries, shrimp, cookies, biscuits, cucumber salad, olives, and more. We had the chicken liver (chopped and delicious, never had it before). And then the shakshuka was also delicious. I'm not a cumin fan, but I enjoyed this! I left fully satisfied plus two peanut butter cookies. Incredible. Get yourselves down here for brunch! Do yourself the favor!

Great cozy squirrel hill spot with several delicious dishes and a complimentary nosh table. Plenty of food served to you by very friendly staff all for a reasonable price. A gold weekend lunch spot.

Amazing food and great service! The brisket was incredible and they nail all the little details of having a great meal and experience. It was good enough that I felt like I had to go out of my way to leave a review, which is kinda rare. It's up there with the Bruges restaurants for my favorite brunch in the city. Definitely will be returning, worth every penny.

A bunch of us showed up late in the evening with kids and the staff was very kind and accommodating. The service was great. The food was good if mildly seasoned and we wished that the sandwich bread was a bit heartier. We thought that the soup and sandwich portions were plentiful. The prices are fair and we had a great evening.

So good! Nosh table is excellent. Minibagels topped with jam were delicious. Entrees were really good too. I got the shakshuka, which had a great spice to it. My wife got the brisket baguette dip, served with a tasty horseradish cream cheese. All the sweets on the nosh table were excellent too. Well worth it and we will definitely be back. It was surprisingly not busy on Sunday at 10 am, especially compared to Pamela's right next door.

Nosh table is great! Comes with the selection of an entrée, $15.99 for adults. Unfortunately, I did not like how the lox was cooked in the LEO. Wish I had ordered the Nu Benny. The younger server talked to the kitchen and got me a taste of the uncooked lox so I still got my wish. The mini bagels were delicious!

Nu is absolutely amazing. I’m so glad my friend and I decided to stop in! I tried several different things and loved everything. The tiny bagels are wonderful and the veggie hash was fantastic. Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends about this place!

Great food, super fast service, and no wait! We got the Shakshuka and eggs benedict, and both were super yummy. With an entree you also get access to a buffet-style table of smaller plates, which were also fantastic. The best part might have been finishing a great meal before people waiting for Pamela’s outside even got in.

To die for, really. Skip the line at the neighboring Pamela's and give this unique joint a try. Very laid back atmosphere. Brunch is great: you order an entree then get to pick as much as you'd like from the delicious buffet which has traditional and nontraditional favorites that vary week to week.
