Love this place through and through. Mr. Kim is always so respectful and welcoming when sitting down at the sushi bar. Even when we came during busy hours, they were kind enough to offer an appetizer on the house. How many places do that these days?
The artwork and intricacy that went into each piece on the boat are unmatched to any other place in Pittsburgh, and the price is unbeatable. Every time someone asks me where do I suggest, I proudly say Sushi Kim in the Strip. As for their Korean BBQ, two thumbs up!!
There have been some BS reviews out there. Take it from me, I've traveled the world, I'm open to many dishes (just about any), and I undoubtedly say, this is my go-to place for sushi & Korean BBQ in Pittsburgh. If any place is busy, yes you'll have to wait, its a fact of life. That does not mean the place is bad.
Sushi Kim is the freshest sushi I've ever had. Kim is always so sweet and welcoming I suggest sitting at the sushi bar and talking with him. Definitely recommend!
Hard to find good sushi in Pittsburgh but this place is the bomb. Korean bbq and large arrange of dishes and entrees. Cool vibe and friendly service and I hope to be back very soon. Recommend the pork gyoza!!
Quiet, classy, friendly atmosphere - fresh, and well prepaired food. The BBQ area upstairs open and friendly , and of course clean. Staff attentive not intrusive.
Their all you can eat Korean BBQ (weekends only) has a good selection of meats, seafood, vegetables and other side dishes. The wait staff is courteous, friendly, and always ready to help. The price is reasonable too.
There's an option for unlimited Korean BBQ for $27.95 that's available Fridays and Saturdays. Why the BBQ isn't also available on Sundays, I don't know, but the restaurant is closed Mondays so choose something else if you're planning in advance. Otherwise the actual dining options are also good, with traditional Korean food that hasn't been Americanized too much. I had a clam stew that was spicy, but had a decent amount of seafood inside. It could've been spicier, but enjoyable nonetheless. Also ordered a spicy salmon roll and I would recommend staying away from the sushi. It's not that it's bad in a physical food safety sense, but because they were unevenly cut, the seaweed was soft, and the spicy mayo used overpowered the taste of the salmon so all you ate was spicy. So stay away from the sushi and get what this restaurant does best. Korean food.
Found this place at the end of my trip to Pittsburgh. Mr. Kim was such a joy to chat with while we ate. A group of friends and I say at the sushi 🍣 bar and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Went to Sushi Kim for the first time for a friend's birthday. They had a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was a little pricey, but worth it for the quality and quantity. Good for a date night or going out for a special occasion with friends. I will definitely be going back soon. Pictured is a sushi combination platter and Jang Uh Dup Bop (broiled eel over rice).
We loved the shared beef bulgogi with the kimchi and the sushi order (12 count) was amazing, the best tuna I've ever had. The preparation and service was fantastic!
Very authentic and friendly staff. I had the sushi platter. It was great. That wasabi cleared my nose and I could taste and smell the freshness.
Cute little place for a quick bite amazing prices but not best sushi and fix the smell inside but good place overall
Staff was very friendly and the food was good. Has plenty of seating for large groups as well.
