Barrio Queen in Scottsdale is truly a gem for authentic Mexican cuisine. Their carne asada is a mouthwatering masterpiece, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. But what stands out even more is the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and makes you feel right at home. A must-visit when in the area!

Great place. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The salsa was amazing. The fresh made at table side guacamole was fresh! The tacos were excellent. Pulled chicken, steak and shrimp. The enchiladas trio was really good. A nice place with fresh food! @food_from_the_usa

Love coming here for either a drink with appetizers or a plate of tacos.
I love the outdoor seating area. It's open, shaded and practically has no foot traffic from people passing by.
If you want a diverse taco selection, go for a shrimp, saudero azteca and al pastor.

Place was an easy 10/10! Waiter was extremely nice, and funny! The atmosphere was great, and seemed authentic, and the food was an easy A. I got the 3 for $15 tacos, and not only do they have a wide variety, but the food was excellent as well!

Went here while visiting from New Hampshire. My better half got the shrimp tacos and was extremely impressed. Had more shrimp in it then most tacos from reasturants in NH. Really good food. Drinks were very tasty and the service was great. A really good spot to hit if every in the area!!

Our waitress recommended Chiles en Nogada for lunch and said that it was a very authentic Mexican dish that would not typically be served in a Mexican restaurant. Wow, were we thrilled! The sweetness of some of the ingredients just added the perfect flavors for the dish. Chiles en Nogada (chiles in walnut sauce) has poblano pepper, chicken, queso fresco, apple, pear, dried apricot, golden raisin, walnut, almond cream sauce, pomegranate, cilantro, served with Mexican rice and calabacitas. See the picture posted with this review. Amazing!

DAMN, were those some amazing tacos! Every piece of meat was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor from tortilla to sauce. Cannot recommend more for a nice night out with Mexican food

I was kinda skeptical about this place, but it's awesome. The tacos were loaded like they should be. Lots of beer š» selections and cool atmosphere. The service was top notch too.

Great atmosphere, very good service. Food is average. It was my fist visit there and they have many menu items so I would try other items to make a full decision of their food.

CALDO TLALPEĆO soup made with chicken, vegetables, rice, avocado, cilantro, tortilla strips.
Superb! My friends also had the tableside prepared guacamole (delicious. Had fresh pomegranate seeds which really livened up the flavor!) Excellent service. Excellent food. Tortillas are fresh and made perfectly. Yes. I will return. Thank you.

Service and food was great as usual. The only issue we had was that we were seated outside the bathrooms even though the restaurant was not full and there were plenty of other tables for two. We could have moved but chose not to but if it happens again we will. Had Happy Hour selections and drinks and were very pleased.

Barrio Queen seems to be on every ātop spots to eatā list for the greater Phoenix area, so I was hyped to finally give it a try. Long story short, it was excellent.
Staff was great - friendly and well-informed. Our hostess seated us quick and waitress offered spot-on recommendations. The restaurant was clean - I have a rule about bathrooms needing to be clean (if the bathroom isnāt clean, the kitchen likely isnāt) and the menās was tidy. Location-wise, it is okay - located near a busy intersection so to stay away from traffic and the smell of exhaust, sit inside.
As for the food, I offer three words: get the guac. It is a highlight, made table-side and the pomegranates make it one of the best Iāve ever had. If youāre up for tacos, there is an option for three and I recommend getting one with pork, one with chicken, and one with beef. All were great, but the beef was my favorite by far. Your opinion may vary.
The drink menu is standard - lots of margaritas, tequilas, and cervezas to choose from. Thereās even a non-alcoholic selection that is fancy and the kids loved them.
Speaking of kids, there is a kids menu that is simple but very cost effective. My son didnāt think heād be filled ordering their kidās burrito but was able to customize it with cilantro, onion, and cabbage. He loved it.
To sum up, Barrio Queen delivered on itās reputation. Weāll be back real soon.
