The best and most authentic Greek food in town. Period!! Always the "go to" place for bdays and celebrations. Never disappoints. The owners are very friendly and so is their wait staff. I highly recommend Zorbas!!
The best food in Fairmount. Everything on the menu is excellent! Owned and operated by an authentic Greek family.
Excellent experience all around. Talented chefs, hospitable and experienced wait staff, speedy service, fair prices. Literally zero complaints!
I went with a large party for a birthday and didn't have an opportunity to snap photos, but I'll definitely be returning to add a follow-up.
Dishes: cold appetizer sampler, kalamari, octopus, pita, lamb.
Take: Everything was amazing, but the cold appetizer sampler was the star of the show in my book. Every dish on the sampler was uniquely delicious and the pita that was served with it was hot and tasted fresh out of the oven. I can't wait to go back!
Follow up: 2/2 great experience. Love the consistency.
Visited this charming Greek tavern and was truly impressed! The food was exceptional, with the giro being noteworthy. What stood out even more were the cold appetizers - they were simply amazing and tasty. To top it off, the authentic music played in the background added a delightful touch, elevating the entire dining experience. Highly recommend for a genuine taste of Greece!
Zorba's menu is like a hug from the inside out. Many of the entrees are rich and hearty. Portions are quite large, too! It's very much a neighborhood-family-restaurant that fits the vibes/demographic of Fairmount. There's one particular staff member that typically works the window that makes me laugh every night we pickup dinner.
I really like their mixture of outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor tables are small, but good for intimate or familial meals.
Saganaki with fire! Yes, please. After going to the museum for pay what you wish Fridays, we stopped in to Korbas for a late week birthday dinner and really enjoyed our Greek feast. BYOB, great service, intimate ambiance, and food that will make your belly smile.
We ordered the Saganaki and dip sampler and since we had 4 of us, we opted to order more dolmas. The pita was outstanding and all the dips fed us four with some to take home the next day. Desserts were baklava and kataifi were very large portions and a little too sweet for me, but enjoyed it.
The star was definitely the dips and the pita. The dips were spicy feta, eggplant, caviar, hummus, tzatziki, and potato lemon. My least favorite was my dish, the octopus. It was drenched in oil and a bit over cooked for my liking but that’s just a matter of preference. We didn’t take wine with us so we ordered a glass of their Greek wine which my advice would be to pass. Overall, the service was great start to finish and we were able to find parking pretty quickly on a Friday night at 8.
Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, and some of the best Greek food I’ve ever had in the states or probably in Greece. It was insanely good and I’d for sure recommend it.
I give it Zorba’s Tavern 5 stars! The food was wonderful, affordable and outstanding service. They didn’t rush us out, spending 3 hours with good friends. It’s a cozy place and a BYOb. Here are photos of our delicious grilled meats, lamb and beef meat balls, and dessert! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in a cozy, casual, neighborhood restaurant. Zorba’s is outstanding! God bless.
The food is absolutely fantastic at Zorba's. You will not be disappointed with your choice to dine in this fine establishment. The salmon was very flavorful and the fries were tastily different. The baklava is divine! The staff was very friendly and it's a nice intimate space. I will surely return!
A great Greek experience. Can't go wrong with the bronzini. The fish is grilled to perfection with a very aromatic rub that makes the crispy skin a delight.
They now have a great selection of Greek wines including a retsina.
Zorba’s Tavern is my favorite Greek restaurant in Philadelphia and one of my overall favorite restaurants in the entire city. I have been here countless times, eating both indoors and outdoors. The ambiance is very warm and cozy, with lovely accents of Greek culture. The food is outstanding and the servers are always very kind and welcoming. The portions are very generous and the flavor is always worth the price. If you cannot decide on what to order, my personal favorites and recommendations are: the grilled octopus (best dish in the restaurant) and the cold spread sampler for appetizers, and then the grilled sampler for one and the saganaki cheese (which is lit on fire in the middle of the restaurant, creating a spectacle for everyone to enjoy) for entrees. If you are in the Fairmount neighborhood of the city or are just looking for some fantastic Greek food, please check out Zorba’s Tavern!
We had gone for an early dinner and everything was great! Henry, our server, was so very nice and answered my many questions with a smile. We had complimentary bread and delicious olive oil for dipping. We opted for the sampler cold platter with a mixture of hummus, feta, grape leaves, eggplant served with pita. My son's lamb with artichokes was incredibly tender. My marinated grilled chicken was delicious and my husband had the sampler which had a bit of everything, lamb, pork, sausage and chicken. All dinners were served with rice and vegetables. The restaurant is very nice, the food, more than generous portions, served hot and very good. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening!
