It's a very good place for pensacola pit barbecue. They have their own smokehouse out back and it has a that hometown feel and great food!
My partner and I loved this place! The food was awesome and the service was exemplary. Everyone was courteous and always had a smile. The facade may look a bit aged, but it's totally worth the experience. You know the food is good when there is a Rolls Royce in the parking lot!

The sweet sauce on the table was really good. The ribs were a little dry but had good flavor. The pulled pork came with no sauce on it so I had to add my own. The garlic bread was amazing. We had to order a second order but we loved them. The pork was meh...okay; needs sauce. I didn't really care too much for the BBQ beans. They were fresh but just didn't taste all that good. The service was okay. Our waitress was attentive but could have cleared the table as we were eating as dishes build up. All in all, we were satisfied with the food but there was no atmosphere
Like Sonny's Used to Be. If it reminds you of an older sonny's it should except they have not allowed the quality of the food to slip - Really good smoked meats and homemade sides unlike so many that open cartons and cans
Sonny's was founded in Gainesville and has become not much different than any chain - these people held on to what made them successful - THANK YOU

Great food and friendly staff. The smoked turkey with their honey mustard sauce is yummmmo! Anything you get there you can't go wrong with... Just make sure you get an extra order of the garlic bread-- you won't regret it. We live right roud the corner from their in Marcus pointe and I always make the Mr. Stop at their drive thru for the garlic bread when I make pasta at home.
LOVE Smokey's. I've been eating at Smokey's for several years now and have never been disappointed! I LOVE their side dishes: beans, slaw, and potato salad! YUMMY! I usually get the pulled pork plate but their BBQ chicken is great too! :-)
We've been going to Smokey's for years and years and years. They have the absolute best smoked pork around. The baked beans are to die for. I've never found any that even compare. I also love the garlic bread. I've seen issues in the reviews with the service. The thing about it is, the waitresses and the same decor have all been there for years. It has that hometown sort of feel when you walk in as a regular customer. The more you go, the more special it becomes. Now that I've moved north, where there is no good BBQ, it makes me love and miss Smokey's all that much more.
So good!!! Got the pulled pork lunch plate with baked beans and French fries. Delicious! And the garlic bread, my goodness!!!! Must try in Pensacola.
First time I have dined at this lovely place. Smokey's Real Pit is phenomenal.
I recommend getting the combo plate for your first time, you get a choice of any three meats and two sides. I got ribs, sliced pork and smoked sausage (all amazing, juicy, smokey and delishious) with bbq beans and french fries.

Being new to the Pensacola area, Ive been trying to find a great local BBQ joint beyond the big chains like sonnys et cetera. And Smokey's real pit is it.🙂 Amazing food, I will be for sure coming back for more.
First time I have been here and enjoyed it. It's a local spot that has been around for a while. The place reminds me of an old joint bbq place that has been around the block or two. I did the three meat plate with sliced beef, sliced pork, and ribs. All three were tender. Add the sweet bbq sauce and we have a nice meal. Comes with two slices of garlic bread. I made a sandwich with both my sliced meat. Bbq beans were tasty and fries just needed a tad of salt. I then smothered it with bbq sauce lol. The lady got two meat combo with dark chicken and pulled pork. Both were a lot better than Sonny's in my humble opinion. Would definitely come back. 8 Chaus
Used to go here a lot when I was young, just recently moved back after 20 years and it's the same. Truly nostalgia for me. So glad not much has changed.
The food quality and service is worthy of SIX stars. I had a sliced pork on garlic bread. The meat was tender and flavorful. Side of fries cooked just right, and we split an order of some of the best onion rings around. Next time I’m in Pensacola, I hope to come back.
The only negative on this place is that the bbq sauce is terrible. Thank goodness I remembered and tasted a little bit of it before I put it on my sandwich. Would love to see them add a version with NO mustard.
Our server Lindsay was outstanding. Our food came really fast and was delicious. Easy to get to. If we lived in the area I would be back frequently.

I can’t say enough about this restaurant. Wow, great prices, outstanding service, and great food. Each one of the meats are so delicious and you can get great barbecue sauce! I highly recommend this place!!
