This place has good BBQ. My only complaint is the portion size of their sides. My example is, the "Assorted Family Combo" is supposed to feed four people and comes with two 12 oz. sides. 6 oz. of a side, isn't enough for one person. 12 oz. of salt potatoes equals 2-3 potatoes, this is a portion for one, not four. It should be closer to 3-4 potatoes per person or a 12 oz. side per person. The portion size of the sides definitely needs to be increased. Still giving 4 stars, because the food is good.

One of my favorite places to pick up a fantastic family meal. Love the lunch and dinner combos. Last week we ordered ahead and they had two pulled chicken sandwiches all ready for us, with salt potatoes, baked beans and terrific cornbread plus a slice we shared of peanut butter pie. Family run and operated. So friendly. A local favorite. They have tables to eat in but we love taking ours down to the lake front at Indian Pines on a nice day.

The BBQ shack is the place to be! Andy his hospitality is through the roof! The food was literally the best we had on our three weeks cross-country roadtrip. we had the family combo platter so we could taste all the different kinds of meats, and boy oh boy were they good! If i'm ever in the north-east again, will defintilty without a doubt go visit him again. Greets from Belgium.

We stayed in Penn Yan 2 years ago and had brisket here twice and it was fantastic. My wife and I have been trying brisket at other places while we travel and we have not found anything that comes close to this place. Brisket was moist, tender, and full of flavor. (Other places: burnt outside, dry, boring) Next time we are driving through New York, my wife wants this to be a stop even if we have to drive extra hours to get here.

Went there for dinner, and the food was incredible!! The pulled pork sandwich was the best I've ever had with tender pork and crispy bacon. Certainly, I will be going back. The workers were so kind and friendly as well. It's a great restaurant in Penn Yan - I definitely would recommend if you're just stopping by or if you live in the area.

Food was great. I had ribs and the wife had the brisket. Coleslaw and Mac salad were as expected. In time I hope they can dress the place up a bit. But don't judge this book by its cover, it's definitely worth the stop.

We saw the good reviews online and thought we had to stop in.
Their food is absolutely incredible, very affordable for the portion size. You have to stop here if you're within any range of it or passing through. The owners are super nice and extremely generous human beings.
The donuts are absolutely incredible as well. They're all made with fresh ingredients and you have to try them!!
Such an amazing family run operation!!! We look forward to our next visit.

Got the garbage plate with meatsauce, Mac salad, home fries and cheese with bacon! Super good. Extremely huge portion. Pulled pork sando my buddy got was great. Ribs were awesome and the sauce was smooth good flavored BBQ. Meat fell right off the bone.
