Very cute spot for frozen custard! Made with duck eggs and the ducks are on site. Lots of tables and available seating! They had dairy free options and the flavors rotate frequently. We got 2 flights and tried almost all the flavors! They were very good, but left a strange film in my mouth. Would try again!
Since gaining national fame (probably international at this point), there isn't much more I could personally add as a review that isn't already known.
Made with THE finest, most sustainable ingredients, my family is not only honored to occasionally enjoy this special place and all of its handmade delicacies, but to also live about 5 houses down the hill in this gorgeous, quiet little Finger Lakes town.
We have had an interesting experience this summer. Despite living so close, we were only really able to stop by twice this season because sweeping success = incredibly long, well-earned lines. It has been remarkable to see this small stand go with the flow of unexpected fame and make adjustments as needed (closing for an hour to restock, adjusting days open/closed to better prepare for the crowds) to keep providing the very best to everyone who visits from near and far.
Pictured is my personal favorite, the Wide Awake, but there is nothing on this menu that I've not fully enjoyed.
This was our first time at the Spotted Duck and it was so worth the drive. As a family of 6 we got two of the large Seneca flights so we could all have the chance to try all the flavors available. Unfortunately they were out of two of the flavors but they just doubled up on some of the flavors to compensate. The ice cream was so smooth, creamy, and flavorful. They use all natural ingredients and you can definitely taste it. The coffee, blueberry lavender, and spicy chocolate flavors were my favorite but all of them were incredible. The added fun part was getting to enjoy our ice cream while being surrounded by the ducks, chickens, and a peacock that live on the premises. You can ask for food to feed the animals at no additional charge. We will absolutely be back again. Next time I'm going to bring a cooler full of dry ice so I can bring some pints home.
I think I have had ice cream in every state and abroad but this was unique, smooth, creamy and just plain delicious. Served 4 kinds in glass containers with tray, which is classy, in farm country, you can feed the ducks, bring your dog. Loved it!
My family heard about this place from some friends, and we were in the area for other business. Very nice little spot off the highway with decent parking.
Menu was great, with options for sundaes and flights of various flavors. We have a plain vanilla connoisseur that was very happy, alongside testing the coffee, chocolate and fruit flavors. Presentation was fun in glass dishes and a cool wooden pallet for the flight. Won't deduct star but the scoop size is very small, so cost wise pints are better deal.
The seating was very well kept and had a very welcoming outdoor space for large crowds. Even in overcast skies, it was a fun feel.
This place was quite an experience and totally was worth the 2 hour detour our trip from Boston to Niagara Falls. Their custard was fantastic. I was a huge fan of the "Real Cookies and Cream" and "Vanilla" flavors. I must say, in terms of ice cream/custard, I don't think it gets much, if any better than this. I loved seeing the ducks and enjoyed getting to take pictures there. I would recommend making this a stop on your road trip, even if it is considerably out of the way.
A unique experience eatting custard made from Duck Eggs. Gave the custard a richer flavor and texture. We appericated the beautiful view, variety of flavors, care given to details, and the additional parking in the back!
Only downside was the 45 minute wait, but that just speaks to the quality of the food served. 100% would give this place a stop if your visiting the finger lakes.
We waited in line for 45 mins on a Sunday afternoon but it was overall worth it. Because of the huge crowd, some flavors weren't available. The frozen custard has a rich, buttery taste. The duck egg flavor shines through. My group's favorite flavors were coffee&cardamom and black raspberry.
I also ordered a side of whipped cream which, unfortunately, was over-whipped.
A neat little ice cream shop off the road, and it's good. Some flavors really pop for me like the coffee, chocolate, and this blue on that they have. I can't remember the name, but it was good. And they only make so much of one flavor a day, so once it's gone, it's gone.
Delicious custard! They have so many fun flavors that rotate seasonally. Many flavors are gluten free. I really love the flight options so you can try all the flavors!
The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and family friendly.
They have ducks!! Enjoy your custard and enjoy watching the cute ducks.
There’s plenty of parking.
