Warmly greeted when we arrived, and a super-attentive server who provided great recommendations. Be sure to ask for advice if you're not familiar with the dishes. We started with the eggplant rolls -- very nice. Followed with the cheese bread (not the version with an egg, and not the version with cheese on top... so many choices!). We followed with a terrific eggplant dish, the beef and pork kebab and ended with the crepes. The kebab was cooked just right, but after looking at some other tables next time we'd try (1) potatoes instead of salad and (2) perhaps the shashlik instead of kabab. The sauce with the kebab was great! The crepes, served with condensed milk, sour cream and strawberries/blueberries on the side were divine. Oh..... they don't fool around with beer. A nice half-liter portion of the draft beers. The lager was just the right thing with this meal. We will definitely return!
Awesome food, wine, and service. We will definitely come back and recommend Bevri to our friends and family. Worth the drive from Berkeley
This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise. Each dish had complex and unique flavors I had never had before. The eggplant rolls in the appetizer sampler were amazing, and the cheesy bread fresh and very comforting. The dumplings were a bit thick and salty but also had a pleasant spice flavor. Service was reasonably attentive and the decor was cute. I’m excited to go back to try the vegetable stew, other breads, and eggplant dish. Definitely something to look forward to!
Had a great time getting dinner here. Food was uniquely Georgian and very delicious. Their signature appetizers were all fantastic including, lamb dumplings, cheese bread in the shape of a boat.
For entrees, we shared the grilled rainbow trout and lamb chops which were tasty with a very nice salad.
Then for dessert we had a delicious Napoleon cake and winter pear paired with a delicious glass of ice wine.
Really was surprised how much I liked this palace! Only downside is that it is on the pricier end of brunch.
It had no wait on a Sunday afternoon 1 pm which was incredible.
Good:
Loved the egg bread and the chicken stew dishes, the momo was also incredible. The flavors and portion sizes here are just great. The food all tasted so fresh.
Bad:
Wait was a bit long for food, there wasn’t a very consistent service so we had to wait a while to get our water refilled.
Overall loved the chic and aesthetic vibe here.
Bevri was my first Gregorian foods in Palo Alto with fresh authentic food preparation
seen in their kitchen area. Gorgeous ambiance of their indoor dining with fresh Ecuadorian roses, Aromatic herbs from kitchen, various displays of wine spirits @ mini-bar area & other imported Gregorian drinks like cold bottle of cherry flavor. I ordered their appetizer sampler(crepe like eggplants, pasty scoops of beets & spinach, toasted Rosemary breads. Then main dish of grilled pork with roasted potatoes. Cherry flavor drink with ice chips were so refreshing & filling. Very well maintained clean bathrooms.
Weren’t impressed with the Georgian lamb dumplings, but the khachapuri adjaruli was so delicious. The pork ribs were also very good and the stuffed fish had an interesting twist to it.
When I read that this was a "Georgian" restaurant, I was quite skeptical. Well, perhaps the owner had some Georgian influence and we'd see just a European cuisine. Boy, was I happy to be wrong.
I am not familiar with Georgian cuisine but I could imagine some sort of a blend between Central Asia, Europe and Russia. I think we got a unique cuisine that you cannot taste anywhere else.
The dumplings - these may look like a Chinese dumpling but completely different. The meat is seasoned in a very aromatic way that Asian cuisines simply don't have. The cheese bread with the egg yolk on top was heavenly. Sort of reminded me of a super soft brioche but filled with mozzarella, butter and the fillingness of a yolk. Simply ingenious. The pork ribs were also out of this world. Yes, everyone has soft pork ribs but the seasoning wasn't your typical overpowering barbeque sauce. It has a hint of ketchup but is very earthy and complements the meat well. And then, the Georgian Salad. We still cannot figure out what the layer on top of the vegetables are... some type of ground meat but again, super unique and a great experience. And the burrata was well dressed.
I have no benchmark on how great of a Georgian dinner this was. However, I can tell you that you cannot get this food anywhere else in the Bay Area and it was a wonderful meal. Will definitely return and a full 5 stars!
Fantastic grilled boneless chicken! Haven't tasted chicken this good since Chiang Mai. The potatoes were perfect, also. The juice was sweet and sour. The Pear desert was a little expensive, but it was delicious enough to eat the whole thing.
