This location is hands down the best Kyoto around. The food is so much more tasty. It was properly seasoned, and the chicken was very succulent, not dried out cause of being overdone, which is what happens at other locations. Love this location

I always go to Kyoto in Avalon anytime I am in the mood for hibachi. Normally I have an okay experience. But today when I went to order food Togo, Chloe made my experience the best it’s been since this location opened. She was very informative and very helpful. I had a kind of difficult order and she helped me get it perfect and also told me ways to change my order to get more food for the same price. Chloe alone made my experience a 10/10. If it wasn’t for her they would get a 6/10 every time.

This was my first time at Kyoto Avalon location. It was the most exquisite lunch I have had in a long time.. The servers Edwin & Kiara was very knowledgeable in n the featured menu items. What made it exceptional was Taylor the manager was accommodating at my mere request. The ambience was wonder. The clean food bathroom and dinning room. Please come and enjoy!!!

Delicious salad dressing. Innovative menu display wall. Cheap 30 cent flatware. Dark-chicken hibachi dinner was flavorful, had good veggies, on a need of thick wheat noodles, not enough rice.
Two TV's played a 95 second video loop of tempura shrimp-roll preparation. It got really boring.

Enjoyed a flavorful Chicken Thigh Hibachi Dinner which included salad with Ginger dressing, Miso soup, Soba Noodles, Brown Fried Rice and Stir Fried Vegetables. Order at the counter and it will be brought to your table.

I went here on on a Saturday around 3p. I love the idea of the big digital menu options on the wall especially being a first timer. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. I got the "lunch". In this box you get a salad, egg roll, sushi, rice, meat of choice and dumpling. Definitely enough food for lunch. I'm sure the dinner is even better. It was not busy at all looks like most people do pick up orders. The chicken was good but I feel like it wasn't as hot more so room tempreture and not as 'teriyaki-ish' as I though it would be. Other than that it was decent.

The food is always great. The sushi isn't prepared that well, but it's fantastic quality. You order at the register and the machine asks for a tip, and they always tell you to "answer the question." I hate tip culture. Businesses need to pay their people more and stop expecting patrons to pay 20% more for their food to pay the wages of their employees, because let's face it, most people aren't tipping at a place like this.

It was Sunday afternoon just before a long commute and we were motivated to find some Japanese style eats before getting on the road. Thanks to Google Maps, we found Kyoto and were curious to give it a try!
Upon entering around 2:30pm ot seemed we would have nearly the whole place to ourselves! I noticed on their door information that their happy hour is from 4pm-6pm.
I noticed a large menu posted as we walked in. We quickly realized that guests are meant to order at the counter then choose their seat, bringing their table number to our seat for food to be delivered.
We decided on the Softshell Crab appetizer, some miso soup and we gave several sushi rolls a try! All was delivered to us with perfection! Very, very good! Every bite was satisfying.
The dining room began to fill up as the time edged toward 4pm and as we were deep in conversation after the seaweed salad and sushi had since been devoured. I see now how those locals who know about this little gem wait until 4pm to arrive, when everything coded with an "HH" on the menu is discounted. That is the trade-off, I suppose. I enjoyed their large dining room during our meal without many, many different parties and tables contributing to the overall decibel level of their wide-open space.
I was impressed with the food given we were a little uneasy with counter ordering upon arrival our first time in. I see the beauty in this, now, though. Our food runner was cordial and went out of his way to ensure we had what we desired. Also, way to score a home run between the kitchen and the sushi chef!
Perhaps I'll try there happy hour next time and feel free to try many a different splendid sushi things.
Thanks Kyoto! If we return, Sundays will be the day. Can't wait to try more of your menu!
