I went to the zoo with my girlfriend during the Christmas festival and had a great time. We enjoyed walking around looking at the Christmas lights and hearing Christmas music. We also got to go through the aquarium and kingdom of the night while we were there. The animals are very active at night! Very cool and only $23 to get in. We had a great time. Highly recommend.

I used to come here all the time and it has been about 5 years since I was last here. Normally, this place is 5/5 for me. However, with all of the construction inside the zoo and about 50% of the animals present, it’s a 3/5. You’ll find many exhibits are closed and some of the animals missing from the smaller buildings. It doesn’t help that the two food trucks and most of the restaurants were either closed and only sold drinks/chips. I went on a Friday afternoon. Admission prices should be less if they have less to offer the public. Basically a ghost town once you get inside. I recommend not coming here this year.

Absolutely beautiful zoo. Plenty of walking area. Even though it was a rainy day they were misters that are probably amazing in the summer for those hot days. My boyfriend told me they also have splash pads they open in the summer. They were also accommodating for the cold, all the animals were still in viewing areas just brought inside which I’ve never seen at a zoo. Not to mention the aquarium and butterfly garden. Both out of this world some of the best exhibits I’ve ever seen

The best zoo in the world! If you’re visiting Nebraska it’s a must see! If you’re from Omaha and haven’t been here in awhile or in many moons like some of my family members, you should definitely go! Downside currently being the orangutang and gorilla exhibit is currently under construction.

Awwwwwwwsome! Now I know why this place is known as the best zoo in the entire country!! I stopped by a little later in the day, so I only got to see maybe only a fourth of the entire zoo and that was enough to make me want to come back for a special trip (we live in Idaho). This is NOT your average zoo! It’s more like a giant family playground with many cool animals in it. It is highly interactive and you’re free to climb into most of the water features!! See a stream? Don’t just look at it…get in it!!! See a water fountain? Don’t just take pictures in front of it…get in it!!! We were here for only an hour or so, but we all had a blast!! …. Even though it rained! This is truly the best zoo in the country and I have no doubt about it. So forget about Omaha’s over-glorified steaks! THIS ZOO IS WHAT PUT OMAHA ON MY MAP. Tons of fun for old n young! Omaha is only 17 hours from Idaho so get going!! … and tell Mr. Buffet I said hi.

The zoo is fantastic. We've been to many zoos throughout the US and abroad, this one ranks up there with the best ones. The grounds are massive and covering all the exhibits in one day would be challenging. Especially if you have kids with you, then forget about it and just enjoy what you can get to. The elephant wing and grounds are really good and seeing the babies there was incredible. The steam train was also really fun and a must do. The gorilla pavilion is really cool and well put together. I'm not a big fan of looking at the gorillas because you can clearly see the sadness and sorrow in their eyes... It's sad to see them in captivity.

That was quite an amazing zoo. Got there late so a lot of things were closing. You can definitely spend at least 4 hours there! The attractions are very cheap, and the food was amazing. The entrance especially made me feel like I was walking into a theme park.

This is the place where oftentimes we go with our kid. Aquarium is the must to visit, looks so nice. We rode the skyfari, that was amazing. Entire place is so big, you will need lots of walking, yet enjoyable. Will also recommend for sea lions section.

Incredible zoo and experience. Bring a stroller, snacks, water, a hat/sunglasses, and layers as outside can be cool but inside can be warm! Only 4 out of 5 stars for a few minor reasons. I wish they provided insights at each exhibit on what is and isn’t stroller friendly AND offered designated stroller parking at exhibits. For example, the desert dome is stroller friendly BUT it would have been much easier to navigate without strollers due to narrow walkways & traffic. Having a sign at exhibits that say “We recommend parking your stroller here for the Desert Dome exhibit.” We ended up stuck with our stroller behind other strollers and would have happily walked the kids through had we known the layout of the trail. A small thing that could enhance the experience for everyone. Lastly, I would love to see a sit down restaurant. Plenty of fast casual concessions available but would have happily taken an hour in the middle of the day to sit and eat and rest with a nutritious meal. Overall recommend this zoo 10 times over!

A truly wonderful zoo! You’ll enjoy the diversity of animals and keep in mind you’ll be doing a lot of walking! The aquarium with shark + sea turtle tunnel is a great rest out of the sun. Can buy food inside or bring your own. Really nice gift shop as well and great outing for couples or families. Don’t miss the giraffes (you can even feed them) or the monkeys in Lied Jungle. The gorilla center is top notch too.
