We stopped in for drinks and apps before a show at the Steelhouse. My wife loved her strawtini and our friend liked her P&P. My old fashioned was very meh. Drink prices are very reasonable. We got the spinach artichoke dip, shrimp scampi, and taquitos. They were all very good. You get 3 of the taquitos of good size, filling had good flavor. Scampi was solid. Spinach artichoke was good but the chips were a little stale. Was better with the bread that comes with the scampi. Service was friendly, a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry so wasn’t a big deal to us. Another table did have to ask to be served. It was kinda strange there was no mood music or any sound over the speakers but more of a personal thing. Definitely would go back.
This place is an absolute delight! My husband and I have been coming to Old market for years and have always thought that this place looks like it was too hoity for us. That is absolutely not the case! Staff was friendly. Made sure I order in our drinks were correct and the ambiance is just great! We truly enjoyed what we had and the atmosphere.
Came here to avoid the crazy long wait at Lula B’s. We’re so glad we did! You walk in to an easy going, relaxed vibe; no crowds or loud music. To start, we had the sangria- perfectly mixed, not too sweet & very refreshing! Then we both had the country fried steak (someone else’s review sucked us in. 😂)- this was a thicker cut, hand breaded steak. Wonderfully crispy with a savory country gravy. Potatoes were also well executed. & you get toast with a choice of strawberry, grape or peach jam- delicious! Every other plate that came out of that kitchen looked equally as mouthwatering! 🤤 Breakfast sandwich to the burgers, you can’t go wrong. Service was also top notch! This place seemed to be a little bit of a hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed. 😊
Great atmosphere with stellar service. The food was excellently done and tasty for my first-ever visit. My drinks were quite strong. The staff are attentive and always makes sure everything is good.
Overall, a great place to check out if you haven't already. Interior is trendy old market, with a nice little patio open air section as well. Well. Staff was friendly and quick. The food was where it was hit and miss, at least for me. Myself and three of my co-workers ordered the fish and chips, which also came with fries and coleslaw. The fries and coleslaw were really good, however, the fish portion of our entree, across all four of our plates, or a bit overcooked and had excess batter. It wasn't bad per se, but, it made the overall food experience not as good as it could have been. However, my other co-workers with us that ordered other entrees said their meals were great all around. Will definitely have to give it another try sometime to see if that was just a fluke. Anyway, definitely recommend checking out for a cool downtown Old market vibe.
Our family of 5 (13, 10, 8, kiddos) stopped in Omaha on the way to Breckenridge, and chose this restaurant based on reviews. It’s a great spot! Friendly staff/servers and food came quickly. Steak sandwich, salads, burger and chicken sandwich were all delicious. Chase our server was great. Would definitely go back!
We wanted to try something different for lunch, so I looked this up and had it bookmarked. We were seated immediately, and our server Zack greeted us quickly as well. He was very attentive, nice, and great to provide recommendations. I ordered their biscuits and gravy with a local beer on tap. The three biscuits were large, fluffy, and topped with sausage gravy. They also gave me an over-medium egg asking with a side of skillet fried potatoes. Everything was delicious! Just looking around at the other servers while eating provided a great vibe for the restaurant. Everyone was happily working and joking amongst themselves which isn’t very common amongst restaurants I feel.
The food here was so good. The drinks were great too. The crispy beef tacos were amazing. I will return for sure.
We visited here for my birthday.
Our server was excellent! Zach was amazing!
Everything we are was phenomenal. Our time was well spent. Food was out quickly and all was wonderful.
Plus... they had cheesecake for dessert for a birthday treat!
Jackson Street Tavern is downtown right next to the Flying Worm Vintage Shop. I recently went for the first time. The exterior is so cute and the patio is fun! I love a good patio.
The inside was a little dark and chilly. I probably wouldn't eat here unless it was summertime and I could sit on the patio.
The menu was condensed well but had a variety of foods /options on it. They have huge salads, delicious pasta dishes and a good set of apps.
We order the charcuterie board, the beef taquitos, and drinks to start. I ordered the Spice-a-Rita which is their take on a spicy margarita. It was not very good so I ended up getting a glass of wine for my second drink. A group of us went and ordered cocktails and after trying all of them I can say, I don't think this is a great place to get a cocktail. Most of the mixed drinks came with really acidic mixers, which usually hurt my teeth and taste sour to me.
The apps were absolutely delicious and the charcuterie board was a good one! They had several types of nice cheeses, a couple meat options, fresh fruit, bread, jam, and nuts. It was a crowd favorite for sure!
The drunken tony was amazing, as well as the coconut chicken salad. I wasn't a huge fan of the power caesar but my husband liked it.
Overall good experience but I don't think I will be craving to come back anytime soon unless its for wine and apps.
