Review Opus Prime Steakhouse - Oklahoma City

Ashley Johnson
Best Steak I have ever had. Perfectly cooked to medium! If you're on the fence about it, just go! You won't regret it!

I recently hosted a Vietnam Veterans Reunion at Opus Steakhouse. I can only say it was the very best steak in Oklahoma City. First the service was outstanding and way above anyplace I have ever had dinner at in Oklahoma City. Second and more important is the steak was so perfect is taste that you never want a steak from any other place. The texture was wonderful and the crust was such a perfect taste. Everyone could not tell me how much they loved Opus and wanted to return. I highly recommend Opus Steakhouse for the perfect steak dinner. The salad and other sides were delicious and the chocolate cake was delicious. A great evening and one they all the veterans will never forget.

We went and celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary, and the Crab Escargot is one of the best appetizers I have had. I also recommend the Bison Filet Mignon farmed in Comanche Oklahoma. Absolutely Devine. Great Wine Selection.. Highly recommend.

So full I'm hurting! Lol The Wagyu 8 oz steak melted in my mouth and was absolutely delicious. We split seafood appetizers, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and risotto sides, and desserts (creme Brule and banana foster). Came with my foodie friend and helped me mark off a Bucket List item: "eating most expensive steak at the steakhouse". We agreed that if we were going to go big... we were going to be GREAT! Atmosphere was rated 4 stars bc it was a little warm over where we sat and we had to fan ourselves.

Great wine list, was able to get a 1996 silver oak. Food was good. Service was not bad wasn't great, I feel like we were an easy customer and server took advantage.

Really enjoyed my time, the service, the food, and the wine. Great dinning experience. Wife really liked her buffalo steak and I enjoyed my 8oz filet with peppercorn sauce. Had the crab cake appetizer, which was mostly crab and not a bunch of breading. Parmesan risotto and asparagus with hollandaise sauce were excellent sides. Went with the merlot instead of the cab and it was a nice change. The chefs salad had an unexpected heat that was most welcome. Tried dessert and after dinner cocktails, and everything was excellent. Spent quite a bit, but I feel like it was worth it. Great time, plan to visit again.

We had a birthday celebration at Opus Prime. I was a little concerned because it was pretty empty. However, there was no need to worry!! Everything was on point! The appetizer we had was delicious, the cocktails were lovely, the steaks were juicy and done correctly! The asparagus with hollandaise sauce is great - just squeeze a little lemon in there. The bananas foster dessert was decadent. The music was great (older jazz type) and we could hear it, while still being able to hear conversations around the table. We all had different entrees and everyone was so satisfied after the meal. It was wonderful! Exactly what a group would want to feel after enjoying a great meal & good company. Even the bill didn't dampen our experience. Yes, it is expensive- but if I can cut my luscious steak with a fork and EVERYONE be happy, and full at the end of the dinner- it is totally worth it!!

I haven't been to every steakhouse in OKC, so I have no idea who honors the cows that lost their lives more deliciously. However, the waygu filet here is by far the best filet I've ever had. I travel around a lot and eat a lot of steaks, so rest assured it is worth every single penny. Staff was friendly/professional, decor was fantastic. All in all, 10/10, will eat again.

We were promptly seated at a booth of our choosing. Our drink order was taken quickly. We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start. The shrimp were huge and very tasty! They brought bread & herbed butter out with the appetizer. The bread was hot and so good! I definitely could've filled up on that! My wife ordered the ribeye, medium rare, and I ordered the salmon. We also got masked potatoes and glazed carrots. Her steak was cooked perfectly and was flavorful and tender. My salmon was topped with crab and in a white wine sauce. It was terrific! I really enjoyed the potatoes and carrots as well. They brought us a chocolate cake since it was our anniversary which I thought was a sweet gesture. We had great service and terrific food in a very nice environment. Definitely have plans to return!

What a wonderful place. Our steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

There are lots of greats high end steak houses in OKC . This place really does a nice job and my medium rare ribeye was perfect . Great atmosphere, and I will go back .

Took my wife out for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant was very nice inside and quiet for us to have a conversation. Service was very good. Had to only ask for more bread with our meal but other than that everything else was promptly attended to. Our food was fantastic. We had the oysters for our app, strip steak for dinner which was cooked perfect the loaded potato and asparagus which were perfect. Had one minor problem with bill which I noticed the day after, contacted restaurant and spoke with the owner Bill and it was quickly handled. My wife and I look forward to coming here again.

After moving from Maine to Oklahoma my wife and I were having a really hard time finding a great steak in a state known for cattle. We found a restaurant that had good steaks in the Paseo district but the steaks here were in a different category. I had the 14 ounce ribeye and my wife had the 7 ounce filet. Mine was rare and her's was medium well. Both were cooked correctly, nice crust and very tender. The herb butter and peppercorn sauce both paired well with the steaks. The asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes were just good and not the standout. The wine list was a book and the prices were the same as a first edition novel. We both ordered the Mendoza Red for $9 a glass which was the cheapest wine on the menu. It was good. Overall the steaks are what we went for and the steaks were amazing. We will definitely be back.

Always Very Good. We gave eaten at Opus many times. The steaks have always been super tender and cooked exactly as requested. I like mine Pittsburgh and they do a fantastic job. The onion soup is very good and the lobster bisque is also. The chop house salad is enough for two people and fresh and crispy. The wine menu is extensive and the prices are "reasonable". They have wines that are very good and reasonably priced and wines that are superb and priced accordingly. The cappuccino was one of the best I have had in OKC.

Not worth your money.. My fiancé and I have eaten at several steakhouses and Opus doesn't measure up to any of them. There are several other steakhouses in the OKC area that are more worth your money. The cut of my fiancé's ribeye was terrible. We will not recommend this place to anyone and will not return. Save your money!

Ok but a cut below The Ranch and Mickey Mantle's. Had a nice filet cooked to order but served on a cool plate, weak presentation. Wife had rack if lamb was way over cooked. Waitress immediately took back and 15 minutes later her rack was served although late to the table it was very good. House bought our dessert for the inconvenience. Lobster Mac and cheese side was tasty but a little on the dry side needed more bechamel. We. liked the ambiance and the good service but will probably go back to the Ranch or Mickey's for a splurge night.

This is a nice steakhouse. I've been to OPUS several times over the last year, used a Groupon almost every time. Been lucky enough to have Daryl as our waiter every time and I would have to say he's by far the best waiter I've had in any restaurant in OKC. Seriously, big props to Daryl for making every visit worth the trip. Overall, the place is much nicer than I expected and the wine list is extensive enough to be impressed for a smaller city like OKC. Having eaten at some of the top steakhouses in Chicago and Los Angeles, I know what top quality really is. This place is as close as you get locally (in addition to my other faves, Red and the Ranch).

The steaks have always been excellent and better than I've had at either Cattleman's or Broadway and on par with the Ranch. We've also tried all the appetizers and liked them all.

I read though the other reviews and have to point out the couple of negative reviews sure look like hit pieces by competitors because they don't look anything like the place or service I've had every time. Complaints about the prices must be from people who've never been to a real steakhouse and are more accustomed to chains like Sizzler or Golden Corral. I've tried almost all the upscale steakhouses here over the last 4 years and this place is now my "go to" steakhouse.

Stay away! I decided to try this place out because I've been to lots of steak places including mahogany and Mickey mantles. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was judged because " I didn't look like a normal customer " there. I don't know if the white old guy was the owner but my gf and I both kept receiving dirty looks so we decided to leave. Sad to say, I will not be coming back.

A bit on the pricey side, but do not let that deter you from giving this quiet Oklahoma gem a try.
A quiet atmosphere, friendly servers, a wonderful wine selection and to top it all off the best prime steak in the city. Opus Prime Steakhouse was a wonderful experience and my wife and I look forward to going back for another nice night out.
Nicole
I absolutely love this place. We come here whenever we have time for a date night. The food is always exceptional! (Kuddos to the chef) and service is wonderful. The atmosphere is gorgeous, and they by far have the best wine selection in the city! I would highly recommend going out to this restaurant for a special evening or event
HSimp
Great steak. My husband loved his steak. I had a shrimp dish and it was fine, but my husband swears that he'd rank his NY Strip in the top 3 he has had here in the city. Our server was excellent. It is a quiet atmosphere, which was fine for us.

Food ok. Save your $ and get as good or better steak at Cattlemans Cattlemans is a least half off if not more.
John
Pricey. This place was alright. The service, food and prices were on par with most higher end steak houses, but nothing I ate really stood out. Also, the atmosphere seemed dead, so it might be suited for people looking for a quiet meal.

This place isn't necessary bad, it's just that other steakhouses in Oklahoma outperform this place.
MB
TERRIBLE. The food at Opus Prime was terrible. Better food at Texas Roadhouse. Steaks were full of fat and gristle. The tab was $150 for two people-without alcoholic beverages. The service was good, food was awful, and terribly over priced. We felt totally robbed. If you decide to go, bring a band saw to cut your steak.
Lovetoeat
Been there several times and each time the food and service gets better. A little pricy but good quality and quantity.
We will sure be back.
Shelly
Better this time..... Our first visit (some time ago)...my husband said he did not want to return. But I got a Groupon, so we could give them another try. Now my husband would go back.
Steak Dianne was very good. I would order that dish again. My husband enjoyed his veal with lobster and asparagus, but he liked my steak better, too. Personally, I think the veal needs more sauce. It was a little dry. The asparagus would have more flavor if it were grilled, rather than just blanched.
I agree with other reviews that the potatoes lyonnaise are not seasoned enough. The lobster bisque was very rich and creamy, but could have more lobster flavor. The warm bread is very good. The service was good and staff was pleasant. Decor is classy. I agree with other reviews that the prices are high for the quality, but I would go back occasionally.
Erin
Loved it!. The filet was phenomenal! Went for my husband's birthday and it was great!
Steve
Great dining and excellent service. Last Friday me and my wife and another couple visited for first time this establishement. We had such a great time. Our food was great and our waiter was excellent. We love wine and good food. Their wine list is one of the best I have seen in Oklahoma City. I can't recall our server's name but his wine knowledge was trully impressing.
Josh Gibson
Great food... Wayyyy overpriced. Excellent service but everything is alacarte, would be better if they would go ahead and plate an entire dish for the 75% mark up on ingredients. Lobster bisque is to die for!
Charlie
I went to Opus last night for the first time because I has a Groupon that was about to expire. It was without a doubt th BEST dining experience I have ever had. My waiter, Daryl, was outstanding. His timing was incredible. I never wanted for anything, yet he allowed me to enjoy my dinner in peace. The bartender poured generous drinks and still maintained the integrity of the drink. The food, oh my goodness, the food! Everything was done perfectly. I had the bone-in New York strip steak, asparagus with hollandaise sauce and the red potato garlic mashed potatoes. The atmosphere was unbelievable. Not too light, not too dark and very eligant. The reviews that are posted on urbanspoon do NOT do this fine establishment justice. I will be returning and I will be telling everyone I know what a great experience I had. Thank you again to Bill and your staff for an unforgettable experience.
Rick
Excellent dining experience where owner, managers, servers and staff clearly mean to make the patron feel special. The steaks are spectacular.

Too rude. Amy, our server was great. the food was over priced and too slow. the owner- manager was absolutely rude. we had reservations for 7:30 & were late by 15-minutes. rather than tell us our reservation had been cancelled they made us wait 30-minutes. when we expressed our disappointment on our seating & our wait the owner came over & told us we were 45-minutes late. this is not the only steakhouse in okc & we will not be back..
Sam B.
The only thing upscale about this place is the price. The plate presentation was horrible. I was told by the server that they were out of 2 types of their steaks. This was 1 hour after they opened. I ordered the bone in New York strip which had no bone... Whatever I was served was very tender. We also had the potatoes lyonnais and the lobster mac n cheese. The potatoes had no flavor, but the mac n cheese was pretty good. My date had the salmon which she enjoyed but definitely wasn't a $28 piece of salmon.

This place wouldn't last 5 seconds in a bigger city with more options. Service was deplorable and food wasn't that great-especially for the premium prices they are charging.
Brittney
Good Food, Way Overpriced!. This was my first time eating at this place and I used a groupon for it. The food was pretty good but I feel like it wasn't good enough to charge their prices. I looked at their menu online and when I got to the restaurant the item I wanted wasn't on the menu anymore (the portobello). The service was really good and the restaurant was nicely decorated but I don't think we will be returning.

Lovely. We dined here for the first time this evening. I ordered a filet stuffed with crab and topped with bleu cheese atop a lobster bisque type of sauce. The flavor was awesome, and the steak was cooked to perfection. My husband's ribeye, however, was cooked medium well but was ordered medium rare. Thankfully, our server graciously replaced it with a perfectly cooked and seasoned steak. This restaurant is not cheap, but we knew that going in. Our server gave us impeccable service, and he was very friendly. His name is Daryl, and we will ask for him on our next visit. I would recommend Opus Prime.
Sandra Reeves
Very expensive 14oz ribeye (very fatty) at a cost of 36.00 and u have to order your sides seperately. That cost is just for the meat! Very bland I guess all natural food. 8.00 for a side of mashed potatoes for 2. 6.00 for a side of broccoli and 10.00 for apple pie desert for 2. Service was excellent though.

Great Steakhouse....excellent service!. Me and my boyfriend usually eat at The Ranch when we want a really great steak and dining experience . We live in Edmond, so we opted to try out the Opus Prime Steakhouse instead. I had not read any previous reviews about this place, but the building looked immaculate so we decided to give it a try. We walked in around 8:00 pm without a reservation and was seated in a nice booth right away. Within just a few seconds we were approached about drinks from a very nice waiter named Eric. We ordered the seafood/steak trio that we could share (this was one of their specials) and a $30 bottle of Australian Shiraz. The King Crab legs were sweet and delicious and the steak was superb. I wasn't impressed with the lobster as it had a strange taste to it. Can't really put my finger on it. It wasn't bad....just not like any lobster I've ever eaten and it wasn't the seasoning. I grew up on the Gulf Coast, so I've had my share of fresh lobster. All in all, we will probably go back. I would definately recommend this restaurant to others. The food was good and the service was excellent. If you go....ask for Eric to be your waiter. He was very knowlegeable, prompt, and friendly.

Great food in a lushious decor. I've been here twice and had a great experience both times. I would definitely recommend to my friends.
Gus M
Best ribeye I've ever had, so tender and flavorful, I've had numerous sides here and they are all wonderful, staff is excellent and it's a very good environment, people who complain about it are absolutely crazy

Great Steak. We have had several wonderful dining experiences at Opus and their staff is really pleasant and attentive. We love their steaks and their wine list is the best in Oklahoma City without question. We love the ambiance and the the food is exceptional. We highly recommend it.

We visited opus two nights ago. That was our first visit and definitely not the last. Our steaks were great and our waiter was amazing. We were a little hesitant to go there because of some bad reviews we saw but we were very glad that we did go. Great experience.

They need help if they will survive.... I've been here many times. The decor inside is beautiful and inviting. I've never had a problem with the staff. As a matter of fact I would say the opposite. Typically I just stop in for a drink or two. Their selection is nice. If I had to guess, the food here is why they are almost always empty. On the few occasions I have ordered something to eat I was less than impressed. I was also disappointed when it came time to pay because I feel the food is way overpriced for what you get in terms of both portion size and taste. I went in there yesterday after a few months and it smelled like a dead animal was rotting somewhere. I really wanted this place to succeed because I like the staff and decor. But, they are in need of some serious help. Perhaps they should call a professional consultant.

Valentine's Day Dinner. My husband and I tried Opus for the first time yesterday. I was a little nervous because of the mixed reviews on here but was overall pretty pleased with our meal and service.

We were a few minutes late for our reservation but had to problems and were seated immediately in a nice booth. The waiter came to our table within 30 seconds of us sitting down to bring us water and came back to take our drink orders quickly. We ordered our meal and were brought some bread and herb butter that was really really good! Our waiter informed us that our meal may take a little longer than usualy because they were so busy but it was out within a half hour which I didn't think was outrageous since it was a holiday.

My husband ordered the large filet medium rare. He thought it came out more medium but still enjoyed it. It did have a little more char then he would have preferred. I ordered the sea bass and risotto which I thought was delicious! It was a large portion that I couldn't finish but I wish I could have! We also ordered garlic mashed potatoes (very good) and garlic creamed corn. The corn was the only thing that was disappointing about our meal. It looked and tasted like it was straight out of the can, was not creamy and had very little garlic taste. We finished the meal with a huge piece of cheesecake. It was rich and wonderful and a great way to end the meal.

We've been to a couple of the nicer steakhouses in the area and while Opus is not our favorite, it was still pretty good and we'd go back for another special occasion. We gave it a solid 7 out of 10.

Not worth the money!. I went with my boyfriend because we had purchased the Groupon deal and it was about to expire. We would have been better off losing out on the $20 Groupon. The atmosphere was fine and our waitress was very nice, but those were the only high points of our meal. My French Onion Soup barely had any soup in it and there were large peppercorns that made it almost inedible. We both ordered the filet, and while it was tender, it had almost no flavor. Seasoning was non-existant. The garlic corn side had no garlic in it and the giant peppercorns made an appearance again, which totally destroyed my taste buds for the evening. However, the food wasn't the worst part. We were seated next to the bar and when we sat down, we noticed how loud and obnoxious the bartender was. Then, as he was making a cocktail, he and some of the waiters started joking about the "******(homophobic slur) who ordered the appletini." He used this offensive word quite a few times and in front of customers and within hearing distance of the manager, who did nothing. We left our meal disgusted with this behavior. I could never go back and support a business who condones this type of behavior from their staff. We will never return, and I would suggest others not waste their time. There are plenty of better steakhouses in OKC that would be worth the money, and they won't offend you while you eat.
Jeff Graybill
Great service, atmosphere. We had the tenderloins as our appetizer, salad, and ribeye and filet as our main course. The food was good, but nothing special . I thought that they were overpriced. Most likley we will not be going back.
Connie Lam
Okay food, horrible service. This was my first experience dining at Opus Prime, and I was really excited to go based on what I heard about the food and service. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful and inviting. The waitress was really nice and the first dishes my cousin and I ordered arrived in a timely manner. However that changed when it came time for the main course. I ordered the petite filet mignon and the potatoes lyonnais, while my cousin ordered the seabass with risotto. We waited at least 45 minutes for our order and I'm fairly certain the waitress apparated to a location away from the restaurant because we didn't see her the entire time. When we finally got our food I was a little disappointed with the potatoes. They were under seasoned and bland. The risotto was also cold and my steak had cooled off as well. I could tell that our food had been sitting out for a while when we should have received it immediately.

Here's the real doozy that capped off a subpar night. When it came time to pay for the ticket my cousin opted to use a Groupon. She gave the waitress the Groupon and when she got the ticket, she noticed the total was off because they didn't take off enough, based on the value of the coupon. She politely asked the waitress about it and when the waitress couldn't help, the manager came out. I will refrain from using any indelicate terms to describe the owner but simply put, he was appallingly rude. It was my birthday, and he ruined it within a span of two minutes. He was very condescending and belittling when explaining the issue with the ticket and my cousin asked him not to reveal the price on the ticket because it was my birthday and she didn't want me to know. The waiter standing next to him understood this request, the owner apparently didn't and was dismissive of the fact that it was a special occasion. Perhaps the owner is deaf or has a partial mental impediment. My cousin asked him why he revealed the price when she asked him not to and he said he was just explaining things and flat out denied my cousin ever said such a thing. He then walked off without helping us and as we left the restaurant I noticed he stood close to the walkway just so he could shake his head at us and express his disapproval. I was on the verge of showing him an inappropriate gesture involving a finger but decided not to. The waitress didn't seem surprised that we received a rude response from the owner, which makes me believe that his unfriendliness is well known amongst the staff.

I realize I have written an incredibly wordy, almost blog-like review, but damn it, they ruined my birthday.
Ashley
First time to ever go and it was an amazing experience. Great service, atmosphere, and food. By far the best steak I have ever had, it was cooked to perfection and the timing was perfect. I would definately recommend this for any occasion!
Amanda Benson
Not again! Poor service & food made for a long evening.

Really Good. I really enjoyed Opus Prime, our steaks were awesome! The restaurant looks really cool too. I will be back.

Reservations @ 6..seated, waited, waited, over 10mins past..then decided 2 look up number 2 call. Mgr..another table got seated, 6:23 we see our waiter. Service terribe, even if food is good, I wouldn't come back! Beware of hight prices, go to Mahogany if U have the money!
MJ Redman
Terrible - Rude - Never Again. TERRIBLE=Everything about this experience...the food was overcooked and not fresh, service bordered between non-existent and completely rude and all food was certainly overpriced when compared to quality. My wife was unable to keep her fish down.

WHAT A JOKE!

More like No-pus. The wait staff was sub par. Their "chop salad" was a bowl of field greens with several 2 inch square chunks of iceberg in it. The Steak Diane was tender and flavorful, but the chef had a heavy hand w/ the salt shaker, which combined with the capers made for a salty dish. His love of sodium was also evident in the garlic mashed potatoes, which I dipped in the gravy thinking the starch would help cut the salt. Not so. For the prices they are asking, take your money to Red Prime, Mahoghany or The Ranch.
Tom Parker
Great Steak. Read the article in the Oklahoman about this restaurant and decided to try it. I can't believe we didn't know about it. What a great evening. Steaks were great, the service was outstanding and we just had a really nice experience. We will be back now that we know about it.
Lauren
OPUS...Oh please NO more. So we decided to go to Opus Prime Steakhouse, even though we had heard nothing good from our friends that had been there. We decided to start with an appetizer and soup and decide after we ate those if it was good enough to eat dinner there...let me share with you our thoughts as we ate.

The outside of the building doesn't tell you too much, except for the fact the the parking lot was pretty empty at dinner time on a Friday night...I get that 6 pm may be a little early for dinner...but we were the second table in the restaurant and there were maybe only 4 more by the time we left. So obviously, no one else likes them either.

When you first walk in the door there is a beautiful entry way. Everything is large and almost intimidating looking, but the look you'd expect from the type of restaurant they are trying to be. Once you walk into the second door if you only look below eye level, the restaurant is gorgeous..but as soon as you look up - you will see the unfinished warehouse ceilings....so now I get to worry about dirt and dust falling in my food while I eat, and I completely expected to see a bird flying over head during dinner. Where else has ceilings like this? ...Walmart...yeah, I've seen these same type of ceilings at Walmart...

Other than the ceilings, the first real sign that we were in for a bad night was the menu the hostess handed to me. As soon as I opened it the pages started falling out. There was also an extra page in the menu that had no place, it was just a floating half page that seemed to be an afterthought. I would have thought it was a mistake had I not noticed that Kyle's had the same issue. Really? The two hostesses didn't have anything else to do - other than the loud gossiping that they were doing at the hostess stand, so why was I given a menu in this condition? Hmmmm....

After that we met our server. He bugged me from the get go. First off, he was an older gentleman, but he smelled like a teenage boy who hadn't showered in a few days and was trying to cover up that fact by swimming in cologne. Seriously, when he came to the table I held my breath and waited a moment or two after he left before I allowed myself to breath in again.

I was also a little perturbed that he thought it was acceptable to interrupt us several times in the middle of our conversations and kept trying to rush us to order dinner. Not exactly what I was expecting from a "fine dining" experience.

So I went to the bathroom and noticed something interesting. Even though the bathroom looked beautiful - marble sinks and beautiful woods and colors - they are definitely hiding some things and a little too open with others. Let me explain.

There were plug in air-fresheners and 9 bowls of those crystalized scented rocks (? I'm not really sure what they are called). It still smelled like a bathroom, so I'm trying to figure out how bad the smell was before.

Also they had the distorted glass doors for each of the bathroom stalls....well, let me just say that I'm glad the restaurant was empty, because that meant that there was no one else using the bathroom at the same time. They were not distorted, tinted or cloudy enough to make that moment private enough...

Now on to the food. The (smelly) server swore to Kyle that the Calamari was the best in Oklahoma City...all I saw was a plate full of grease. The calamari was like chewing on a rubber band. It was ridiculous and impossible to chew. It was supposed to be perfectly seasoned....it was overly seasoned with pepper and that was all the seasoning we could really taste.

It was supposed to be served with Remoulade...
The picture you see is all the breading that had fallen off in the cheap tartar sauce they gave us.

Next course:
Lobster Bisque, one of our absolute favorites...
Sloppy.
Disappointing.

The only "fancy" part of this dish was the tacky paper doily under my bowl that looked like it belonged to the older couple at the table next to us. You know, the couple in their mid-60's that were wearing their dress-sweats and their oversized, white, orthopedic shoes. That couple that looks like they have a couch from the 70's in pristine condition because it's under plastic.

The bisque was DREADFUL! I was so disappointed that there was virtually no lobster meat in it. There was tiny slivers of ground lobster that I managed to scrape off of the bottom of the bowl. I didn't actually finish it, because a few spoonfuls in I felt something like the shape and texture of a fingernail clipping in my mouth...it wasn't a fingernail clipping - it was a piece of the shell that had gotten ground in as well. After pulling out about four of those, I decided I was done.

Oh wait...we also had rolls! They were the cheapest, flavorless, plainest rolls I have ever eat. The frozen rolls I buy at Sam's Club have more flavor than the ones I was served. The butter...even though it looked "cute" had absolutely no flavor. Hmmm...bread and butter with no flavor - which makes me ask, What's the point?

This was the point that we decided we had wasted enough money and did not want to eat anything else from that kitchen.

The food was terrible, the service was dreadful and the restaurant overall was just a huge disappointment. The only thing amazing about the restaurant is the website, which definitely makes it seem much better than it really is. This was not fine dining in my opinion.

My recommendation - STAY AWAY!
If you want better food at the same price, head to Mahogany. If you want better food for less money - head on over to Red Lobster.

Great Wine List. This is the second time we have tried OPUS and it is absolutely great. They are the only restaurant that I know of in Oklahoma that has true Kobe beef as well as prime beef. The service there is always first class and the food is just what you would expect from a high end steakhouise. What is particularily amazing is their selection of wines. They have over 1100 different wines to select from. It is great to see a restaurant put that kind of effort into providing a truly overall wonderful experience. Great food, wine and service.. We will be back.

Biggest (and most expensive) Dining Disappointment Ever!!!. ......and having lived in 7 states and 3 foreign countries and traveled to several more, that's saying something.

This was our first, and obviously last visit - sorry Opus, but the exorbitant prices you charge for the quality of food you serve deserves no second chances.

We arrived around 6:45pm on a Saturday and were greeted by a very nice young lady who seated us immediately. The restaurant was approximately at 35% capacity, which should've been my first indication that something was amiss given the day and time.

As with most dining experiences, there were good and bad aspects - here are the good: Our server was very personable, knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients, and checked on us often and kept our beverages filled. From what I could see, the other serving staff were equally personable. The atmosphere was very nice and is one of the few places remaining where you can actually carry on a conversation without having to scream across the table. The restaurant was very clean and neat, as were the restrooms.

Now the bad: For appetizers, we ordered the calamari crispers ($11) and a wedge salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing ($8). The order came out promptly, but the calamari was anything but crisp, in fact, it was limp, but, at least it was tasty and tender. There was no presentation to it, just a pile of underfried calamari rings on a plain plate with a ramekin of remoulade sauce, which was also tasty. The salad was good, but the dressing was very diluted and lacked the bite normally associated with a balsamic vinaigrette. After we finished (strange timing) our server brought us some "fresh bread" which were two tiny food-service/institutional-quality rolls. It was another 30 minutes before our entrees arrived. I ordered the butterflied shrimp ($25) and a side of garlic mushrooms ($8). My friend ordered the portobello mushroom ($19) and a side of garlic mashed potatoes ($7). That entree also came with a scoop of mashed potatoes and some mixed vegetables (broccoli, red pepper, asparagus, and onions). The 6 or 7 shrimp were large, but heavily breaded and obviously left in the frialator way too long - instead of golden brown, they were almost the color of dark chocolate and as tough as beef jerky. The garlic mushrooms were delicious, though, and were probably the best part of the meal, along with the dessert. The garlic mashed potatoes were lukewarm, bland, had little or no garlic that I could taste and were dry and clumpy - obviously no butter, cream or sour cream was used in the recipe.
My friend's portobello mushroom dish had a nice presentation, but there were only about 4 small slices of portobello mushroom and they were dry, tough and unseasoned. The vegetables were nice, but undercooked and lukewarm. Finally, we had the bread pudding ($9) for dessert - it was warm and nicely presented with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and a delicious caramel-bourbon glaze. Again, it was probably the one of the best parts of the meal, but I've had better for half the price elsewhere. In such an upscale restaurant, it is not uncommon to see a manager checking on the guests, however, we were there for about an hour and a half and we didn't see anyone who appeared to be management.

I know what everyone is saying - why didn't you just send it back?? Well, neither of us had eaten all day and didn't want to wait another half hour and risk getting replacement meals that were equally poor and neither of us wanted to ruin the evening any more than it already had been. We didn't say anything to our server, but I suspect she realized that we weren't too thrilled. The total tab for this meal was $114.29 (includes tax & $20 tip).

To the owners: You have an incredibly beautiful restaurant and an outstanding serving staff, however the prices you charge for the quality of food you serve is a miscarriage of culinary justice and you should be ashamed. The 56% rating is sadly well-deserved, but also obviously indicative of the wildly fluctuating quality of the food and other underlying issues. I know how difficult the restaurant business is and I wish you the best, but you have got to get it together!!

To the chefs: Please pay closer attention to your food in the frialator. Dust the calamari with parmesan reggiano and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Try tossing the vegetables with olive oil and seasonings and roasting them on a sheet pan under the broiler for a few minutes instead of steaming them. Liberally wipe the mushroom cap with olive oil then put some herb butter on the gills, then top with blue cheese crumbles and put under the broiler for a few minutes and serve whole instead of cutting - it makes for a much nicer presentation. And add something...anything to those mashed potatoes. Get some quality balsamic vinegar and don't scrimp on it when making the dressing. Use crustier bread when making your bread pudding so it will have some texture and make it a little thicker and add raisins and or pecans, and a little heavier on the bourbon, please. And for heaven's sakes, start baking your own bread; it's not that difficult - a server walking around with a basket of warm ciabatta rolls served with generous quantaties of pure, real butter would be fitting of a restaurant the promotes itself in the manner which Opus Prime does.

BEST WINE LIST IN OKC. No doubt Opus has the best wine list in town. Beautiful interior and you can choose to be left alone for intimacy or active with the staff...who are very knowledgeable and attentive to every need.
If you like cigars...they have a special room for you to enjoy an after dinner cigar and after dinner drink. A nice selection of cigars in the humidor
Steaks are awesome and the seafood is comparable. Definitely recommend.

Good, but not spectacular. My husband liked the salad. I did not.
Our side item (lyonnaise potatoes) was just okay.
Our ribeye and steak dianne were good.
It's good, but nothing really that made me want to go back... I still prefer Mahogany.

Really tried to like it. I really tried to like Opus Prime, but just can't. The steak was good, but not exceptional (you can buy prime grade steak and cook it at home with similar outcome). The butter on my baked potato tasted off. And the broccoli was overcooked. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert, which was good, but the best part of it was the berries and whipped cream that came with it. They should have just a dessert of berries and cream. Overall, the food was good, but the cost is what caused me to give a "doesn't like" vote. I've been to pricey steakhouses before that have earned what was paid. This place just didn't.

Wonderful. We ate here for Valentines day, got the special. 2 salads, 2 fillets, 2 lobster tails, 2 sides and a dessert! The food was wonderful and the service was impeccable!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!!

Valentines Day Bust!. First time visiting Opus. What a disappointment. Service was great, but we were seated in the bar area even though there were open tables in the restaurant We started out with the bisque and it was good except that it was cold. We both order salads. Both were good, but the Caesar was on the small side. When we asked for bread, we were given 2 yeast dinner rolls. My husband said they tasted like the brown and serve rolls at Walmart. I said they weren't as good as that! Two? Really? Then our entree and side orders arrived. Ice cold. The 5 pieces of asparagus still had unmelted hollandaise sauce. The mushrooms were cold and the steaks were way undercooked. We sent everything back. We sent them back again when the manager brought them out again because they were still cold!! This was by far my worst valentines day dinner ever. I didn't even mention that we got our appetizer and salad within 10 minutes of ordering and waited 45 for our cold steaks and sides. Our reservations were at 8 and they were not that busy. Now we can say we tried it, but never again.

The Best Steak South of Chicago!. We ate here for my husband's birthday, kind of a date night also. I did make reservations and we had no waiting upon arrival. Beautiful decor! Just stunning. Our waiter was very courteous and helpful in suggestions. He appeared to have worked in some finer establishments, which was nice, that they hire quality people. Everything is ala carte, as expected in a fine restaurant. For starters, we had the Tuscan Tenders. Delicious. Prime filet medallions covered with cheese, onions, peppers, olives, olive oil served with delicious basil toast points. Yummy! I'm a rib-eye girl, but decided to try the petite filet, just a good feeling about it. Boy, I was not wrong! You've heard the expression, "like butter", well that's the only way to describe it. Melted in my mouth and was the biggest petit filet I've ever seen. Must be after cooking weights. My husband who hates any fat on a steak, odd I know, ordered the strip. It was the best steak he'd had in OKC. It did have just a small ribbon of fat on the outside of it, I had dibs on it, but he wolfed it down. He said it just melted in his mouth. We both had salads, his was a traditional Caesar and I had the Tomato and Red Onion, basically a Caprese salad. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the tomatoes. They didn't seem to be the freshest around. They were cold, which is a no-no with tomatoes. But all in all they were alright. Delicious meal, fabulous bar and they have a cigar room. Hubby didn't partake of that. Desert was divine. We never order deserts in a restaurant, but since it was a special occasion we went for it. We had the Chocolate Martini Cake! It surrounded by fresh berries! Order one piece and share, that's what we did and so glad for it, truly the richest chocolate I've ever had. I was in heaven! This is my favorite place to go in OKC, although it has to be reserved for special occasions since it is a little pricey for us. Truly the best money I've ever spent in a restaurant!

Great Steak Dinner. Had dinner there last Saturday and it was great! Calamari, Lobster Bisque, Filet and Creme Brulee. Everything was so delicious still kept eating even though I was full. The only thing that I didn't like was their coffee. The person I had dinner with also thought the coffee was awful too! But the rest of the meal definitely made up for the terrible coffee.

Get excited. Elegant, delicious and succulent are three words to sum up Opus Prime Steakhouse, and that's before I get to the food. As a family owned and operated restaurant, Opus Prime takes pride in differentiating themselves from the average steakhouse. Opus goes the extra mile with their food preparation and high-class service. Your evening will be defined by the details. I personally recommend the 12oz Filet Mignon roasted at 1500 degrees then drizzled in a homemade demi-glace peppercorn sauce with fresh Rockford cheese. Follow that up with the most incredible lobster bisque in town and you are sure to go home happy. Whether you are looking to enjoy a nice cigar in the lounge or perhaps a glass of wine from a collection of over 900 labels, Opus Prime Steakhouse is sure to be a dining experience you will never forget.

OPUS Prime Steakhouse review. Fabulous. Only restaurant that I know of in OKC that serves true KOBE beef as well as Prime Steaks. Great service, amazing wine list. We will be back frequently.

Service was slow and poor, & food was just average. My wife & I went there for a romantic evening and left very disappointed. For the price it was not worth it. I would not recommend nor go back.

This is THE date place to go. The steaks just melt in your mouth. It was quiet and romantic and just perfect. The staff (more specifically our waiter Travis I think was his name) was so helpful in helping us pick the perfect wine. Yes it is a little pricey but why not treat yourself to the finest!

Don't.. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside, but the food is awful. We went four times (clients picked it) and each time the food was terrible. Once two steaks at the table were frozen on the inside, another time the filet was chewy. It's a shame because the staff is excellent. But after going there four times and not having a decent steak any time, we will never go there again.

Was once Nick's at the Top. If u like fine steak and a wine list that is bigger than any I have ever seen come here. I think I read some where that they carry 6,000 bottles of wine. It's classy and good food.

OPUS -. A little over the top in decor and fussiness. Pretty unique atmosphere for a high - end steakhouse in that it's kind of laid back, slow and easy dining. If you're looking for a relaxed and quiet dinner that can last all evening if you want it to, and not feel rushed by the staff, this is your place. The grilled salmon was perfect, with nice tangy glaze - not swimming in butter like so often happens. I had the corn on the side, and it was a nice surprise tasting like it had just been shaved off the ear and cooked just to crisp perfection. The caesar salad here is great, with each flavor distinct, the lettuce crisp and delicious fresh croutons. Dessert menu is about what you'd expect, but I shared a slice of the carrot cake which was pretty terrific. Multi layared and huge! with a caramel topping that set it apart. I like the place for what it is, a little expensive, and I wouldn't cross town just to go there, but I wouldn't turn it down.

Boring food, pleasent but slow service, garish decorating, bad part of town, save your money for the biker bar next door.

This is not a casual dining kind of place. We go there for anniversaries, etc. But that's why I remember.
