We got in for brunch this weekend and it was everything I expected. Amazing food and service. One of the best brunch spots around! This place is an Oakland treasure. The oysters are always a highlight and the craft cocktails are amazing. This is a date night place that we are always so happy with. Tonight in particular was amazing because they had both a wedding party and a birthday party and our service was completely unaffected. Truly amazing. Great job team! We look forward to our next Hopscotch date night.

Nice spot, had the pork chops and a burger that’s not pictured. Are outside which could have contributed but the items weren’t as warm as they could be. Our pork chop dish might have been missing some Okra as well as a table next to us got the same dish but with the Okra on top. Would try again in the future but this is currently why it’s a 3/5 for me.

Deeply disappointed with recent dinner. Hopscotch was once amazing, but now it seems the team is asleep at the wheel. Certainly not worth $280 for two (the $80 gristly steak was not worth it by any means). Entrees came at the same time as the appetizers, the $12 desserts were just plopped on plates, and the lights were turned up before we'd even left the dining room. I wish they could work to recapture their former essence. So sad.

A lot of good flavors but some issues as well. The beef tataki is a very small portion for the price. Flavor is decent but the purée adds no flavor. The uni and roe oyster was tasty but there was three pieces of cracked shell in there that I had to spit out. The soba pasta was my favorite dish, basically al dente pasta. Brussel sprouts were tasty but a little bit too burnt. Service was quick and efficient.

Nice brunch / dinner spot with a Southern food mixed with some Japanese influence. We had the fried chicken with biscuits which came with a generous portion of fried chicken cooked Karaage style and a nice savory gravy over well made biscuits. The Pork Belly Eggs Benedict was also quite lovely but more or less what you'd expect from a well executed version of this dish - hollandaise with a lemony twist and thick cut pork like bacon and a nice slice of challah. The donuts were outstanding and worth getting, they came with a unique and not too sweet butterscotch sauce on the side that I hadn't tried elsewhere. We had mimosas and they were well made and a good deal for the carafe. The service could have been better. The waiter was quite friendly but not very attentive and maybe checked in with us twice and never did bring the desert menu. We just grabbed one ourselves after waiting for a while. Overall it was a good reliable spot that executed the dishes well but you won't be finding anything that's going to raise the bar flavor wise.

Great place for drinks and delicious fried chicken. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy and juicy on the inside. The service is great. I felt at home.

The wait wasn’t too long (didn’t make any reservations) and it’s located in a pretty quiet area. The food was okay - eggs with the soba biscuits were extremely salty and the potatoes lacked a lot of flavor. Benedicts we’re pretty good though! Hollandaise sauce was good and the eggs had a beautiful orange yolk. The soba biscuits were also not the best texturally. Service was pretty quick here.

I was expecting a lot. Everything was off. Our server didn't seem to like us. The fritters were delicious but had sat for awhile before we got them. My pork chop was tepid but pretty good although a little tough. The veggie mix was good but the tempura beans were rubbery. We got the wrong squash dish and the eggplant appetizer was not to our taste. My friend's cod dish was tasty but lukewarm. Overall a big bust.
