Didn't know there was a gelato place here and was super excited to try it out!
Hubby and I shared 2 scoops of dark chocolate and pistachio. I'm a huge fan of pistachio and it's not really easy to get a good one around. Michael Mischer gelato was amazing! You could really taste the roasted pistachios!!! Delicious! The chocolate was rich and delicious as well. Unbelievable! So happy to have found out this spot!
Prices are reasonable - 2 small scoops (you can get 2 different flavors)
for $4 ain't bad.
Place inside is lovely and spacious with couple tables to sit! So many chocolates to choose from - I still have to come back to try out their chocolates! But for now, I'm going to dream about that lovely gelato. Can't wait to be back!!!
I've only ever gotten the gelato here, but it's one of my go-to places for gelato/ice cream in oakland! Don't be confused by the name - they offer much more than chocolate flavours, and you're allowed a small taste to try some flavours if you can't make up your mind yet. And I think the flavours change from time to time so you can try out different ones each time you go. The staff is friendly and helpful at making suggestions.
The shop is nice and the chocolates are beautiful. A single chocolate bar is over $10 so the place isn't cheap, and though I've tasted the very delicious pumpkin pie chocolate, I'm not sure I'm sold on the price tag.
I have no doubt a true chocolate connoisseur could justify the price, but as a guy who enjoys Ghirardelli, my taste buds aren't so refined.
I bought the Murry River Salt medium dark and the toffee/Murry River Salt in milk. I'll update this rating after trying those two... of course they're coming out at the next dinner party. For now they sit snuggly in the cabinet in a sealed air-tight container.
You won't be able to eat regular icecream again after coming here! It's seriously good. And the staff are super nice.
The chocolate is good, but the gelato is where its at here. Its smooth and the flavors are AMAZING. get a chocolate to go but stay for the gelato
The chocolates and gelato are scrumptious, treats of a higher quality. The representatives are always friendly and helpful.
This is definitely my favorite chocolate shop in the area. Good service- friendly and very very amazing chocolates
