Flipside

Nice diner-style burger joint in Oakland. I liked the menu variety and the great portion sizes for the price. I’m giving 3 stars because I did not like the burger patty nor the fries. I thought the burger was dry (I ordered medium doneness) and the fries seemed undercooked. Great service but not the quality of food I was looking for.

My first experience at flip's was great. I first went there on March 16th of this year and it was great. I got their original california burger combo with fries and their special sauce that I'd never tried before but I will the next time I go there either to eat in or order for takeout again. So yeah flip's burgers, fries and shakes was great. I'm looking forward to going back there to try and eat inside next time. And thank you to the people that work there for serving us with their food, drinks and their kindness to all of us who eat there.👏👏👏

The food that we got was ok, but they managed to get all of the orders wrong, even after they read back all of them when I placed the order. The burger ordered with mushrooms was missing mushrooms (their handwritten slip said mushrooms), and the burger with onion rings (noted on their slip) had just regular fries, as did the order that was supposed to have potato fries. I'm slightly annoyed that we paid for upcharges for things we didn't get, but I'm more annoyed that we didn't actually get the food we ordered.

Omg I really really love this spot!! I had the California sensation with chicken breast, comes with avocado, red onion, tomatoes, sprouts and lettuce. Hands down my favorite sandwich. Had half fries and onion rings. Thay have a hangover burger which is also delicious. Fresh salads and shakes. The owner is such a nice, friendly man. A must if you want good quality food ❤❤❤

Went to San Francisco for the weekend and met up with family staying in Oakland and decided to drop in for a burger. Everyone was completely satisfied with the food. The burgers are terrific and the garlic fries are off the hook. The meal was so good we had to come back again before we left, ordering more new things off the menu to try.

Flipside is a great local burger shop. While their specialty is undoubtedly burgers / fries (curly is my preference), they also have some chicken strip / salad options for vegetarians. I usually go for the Hangover (fried egg, American cheese, bacon, french fries, and tabasco mayo) with two substitutions: 1) cheddar cheese instead of American and 2) chipotle mayo instead of tabasco. Try it your way or mine, and enjoy!
