It feels like home! Connie you're the best! I ordered the Chilaquiles con arroz y frijoles, the food threw me back to Mexico's breakfast meals. Its worth every penny and let me not forget to mention her coffee. The coffee is sweet with hints of cinnamon and chocolate! Not one other restaurant bets Connie's authenticity. She's operated this restaurant for 27years!!! Iconic! Oakland spot check it out!

Food poisoning just waiting to happen. Microwaved meat. Unsanitary staff. Grimy kitchen. Got a burrito and a torta and seeing the cook prep the meal made me queasy. Literally microwaving old meat to go into the burritos. Nothing is cooked on site. I don't know how this place passed the Alameda County Dept of Health inspection.

Connies food is amazing. You can’t call it Mexican food as most know it. She makes everything from scratch and that’s why it takes a little longer that what most are use to. Sit on her patio, have a beer or sangria and enjoy the experience. Her flavors are amazing, like nothing you’ve had. So...if you like Tex/Mex this probably isn’t the place for you. If you love amazing flavors and sauces you’ve probably not had much in this flavor, this is the place. Connies been in the business many years in South America and Louisiana.. now you get the flavor! Try it, you will love it!!

I wanted to try this place. I ordered a "Super" burrito. What a disappointment. It was mainly rice, very little meat. Flavor was okay but there was no guacamole or sour cream. I called and was told "There is guacamole and sour cream." Funny, I think I would be able to see green and white since the rest was red. Sorry but never again.

I’ve been there twice for lunch. No one home but Connie. We sat on the patio which was cool and comfortable. We ordered quesadillas and they were delicious! Maybe they didn’t look authentic Mexican but they were a welcome change to the same old Mexican lunch. Prices are very reasonable and I definitely will be back for dinner.

Connie is great and I feel honored to have such a gem in the neighborhood! The place looks nice with cloth napkins but is one of the most affordable options around, so I think a lot of people miss out when they're looking for a casual dinner. The food is lovingly prepared and the decor is comfortable, if a bit retro (which I appreciate). I am usually vegan, but cheat for the cheese in her vegetarian corn burrito!
