This place was refreshing. I had seen a video on eater and always wanted to go there and finally got a chance. The ambience is amazing, next to waterfront, the service is as good as you can get. We got in without a reservation and the lady at reception got us in even with a packed schedule. Our waitress was super nice and was one of those who doesn't hate her job but loves it, was ready with some good recommendations and was very warm. We tried the kawarma with lamb with some bread on the side, that bread was the best bread we have had for a while now, just amazing. The kawarma was good too(hummus with lamb) we also tried the musakhan( the one featured in video) it was a unique experience. I would definitely recommend it but I would do something else next time to explore the menu more. We also had a desert that was made of cheese and it was yum! They do have wines cocktails and beers which make it up for a great dinner. The price is a bit steep but I would pay it again for the package.
Amazing food! Everything was perfect and quite original, at least from my point of view as I'm not familiar with that type of cuisine. The lamb shank might have been the best I ever had! The only small issue was that the service was slow and the waiter forgot 1 dish and came to ask whether we wanted dessert when we were still waiting for it... 1 drink comped to compensate, but we're not even sure, that might have been a second mistake...
Chill vibe and a friendly and diverse staff that provides a wonderful and inviting level of service. We had brunch and was fantastic! The pita is made to order and all of the dishes were full of flavor. #protip: Order extra pita if you get the Shakshuka so you don't miss any of the sauce.
I found this restaurant on YouTube channel, Eater. Traveled across North America and had to eat here.
Sampler plate was delicious. Homemade pickled vegetables were beautiful garnish.
Coffee was good and strong.
The staff was incredibly helpful to guide us on a very rainy day in Oakland.
Dyafa should be very proud to have this gem on the waterfront.
The restaurant was very busy for Sunday dinner, we waited a long time for the food, but it was worth the wait. Everything tasted delicious, seasonings are amazing, the service was very good and the place has a nice atmosphere.
This was extremely flavorful lamb shank, sauce was savory and I used every bit of Khobz to sop it up. Cool vibe indoors with exceptional staff service. I hope they open back up soon, I’d eat here once a week if I could. Interesting beverages too!
The chef is creative. The flavors are a little unorthodox like this lamb shank I had. But they fixed the problems one has with a traditional lamb shank. It can get dry so they have added a generous amount of liquid-y sauce. And it can get boring so they have added a crunch. That said, the spirit is preserved as well as the middle eastern flavor (overlooking the presence of American corn).
Awesome for vegans and vegetarians while still keeping others happy too! Awesome presentation and everything was delicious! A bit pricey for the small plates, but it was worth it! It was also really fun to order mezze with breads and split everything. It’s definitely more of a sharing experience versus everyone getting their own entree.
