We visited on 03/06/20 at approx 8PM. It was a little busy because there was a large table, but we were seated pretty quickly by a really nice lady! I wish she would’ve been our server. Our server was Hana?(I think that was her name) She was so unenthusiastic and bothered that we came to a restaurant to eat. We ordered pretty quickly, I got the throwback in a lettuce wrap which was honestly the worst idea ever!! It was literally 1 pc of lettuce on top and one on bottom, and it had so much sauce on it, it was way to hard to eat and ridiculously messy, I thought it would’ve been like other lettuce wraps I’ve eaten where everything was secure but nope, not here. My bf got the beefy which he enjoyed, and we split messy fries (which was the best part of the whole meal for me and the ketchup is bomb) I had a pink margarita, and he had a Oaxacan old fashion with our meals. After we ate we decided on another drink Beverly Fizz and dessert the UFO which we ordered at the same time we got the drink in maybe 7-10 min, waited another 10-15 for our dessert and she just brought us our check, didn’t ask if we wanted anything just set it down. Drink prices are steep for the amount of it that you get, and we never even got our dessert which my bf was excited about. If we return again, it’ll probably only be for the fries. They’re truly a gem.

Unfortunately the experience was horrible. Ordered delivery: Milkshake completely melted; onion rings fried to a burnt crisp, looked like a half order too; Cheeseburger overcooked, didn't fill the bun, lettuce wilted. Seriously, where is the meat?? Entire order was poor.

Found a great spot for finishing my work day over happy hour. I sat at the bar enjoying a fantastic old fashioned (with bacon) while finishing my last call for the day. The staff and bartender were awesome! And the chicken sliders were a very tasty treat. Cheers

Parking is a pain to find since it is located in downtown Oakland. Has a sports Bar feel, complete with a couple of large TVs showing whatever sports game happens to be on. Staff was really nice although it did take awhile to get any help when it wasn't even that busy. Food wasn't prepared as ordered but it still had a great flavor to it and all the server's recommendations were spot on. Will definitely hit up again.

I've eaten here only twice, once I ordered an Ahi burger and beers which were at happy hour pricing. Most recently we ordered " Impossible Burgers" which took longer to emerge from kitchen than anticipated. We killed two appetizers ( a delicious spicy edamame, and boring battered frozen sweet potato fries) and some beers waiting for the burgers. It was pleasant on the outdoor patio, and the place only had a few active tables going on inside on a Sunday eve. Despite being the most expensive menu items, the "Impossible Burger" preparation seemed an afterthought, arriving nearly 30 minutes later grey and dry inside unlike the marketing materials I had seen prior which raved about the high moisture content and pink fleshy faux hemoglobin rich interior. The exterior of the patty was crisp, but closer to blackened than a well cared for burger. The suggested menu serving was with American Cheese but we opted for white cheddar which while melted, seemed had gone long past mere bubbling and seemed to me almost cooked away and evaporated on the surface of the burger. We devoured our burgers anyway despite any apprehensions. I was a little disappointed and will have to go back and see if this was an aberration or what the hype was all about. Our server was attentive, helpful and polite, and said "Impossible Foods" trained them to crisp their genetically modified veggie burgers on purpose. Really?

Good burgers and fries but the cocktails are hit or miss. I ordered the oakland location special which I highly recommend if you go to this location and a bloodymarry ( I've been on the hunt for the best in the bay) which was pretty good but of the 3 we ordered none were anything alike, progressively getting worse each additional one we got, which was disappointing. Overall for a chain burger place it was good but the competition in the bay is fierce.

Umami burger is amazing. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The burgers are of course delicious. There is a great Happy Hour menu that has a lot to offer for $6 appetizers. The alcohol menu is pretty extensive. There are a lot of beers on tap and something to find for anyone looking to drink. Also the inclusion of the impossible burger to appease to vegetarian and vegan tastes is very accommodating. They serve other things if you aren't in the mood or can't eat beef burgers, such as chicken or ahi tuna. A party of 6 of us were there tonight and we all shared lollipop wings, sweet potato fries, and shishito peppers. All the sauces that accompanied the sides were delicious many of them had a hint of truffle, and I thought it really elevated the flavor. For my burger I choose the sunny side which comes with a single patty, parmesan frico, fried egg, truffle thyme compound butter, and truffled aioli. The flavors were amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly as I asked and the burger was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. Umami burger is definitely a gem and I look forward to coming back here to try their other burger creations.
