Cute gem of a place! Fresh seafood with fried fish being memorable. I will miss this when I go back to Germany! Can’t wait to come back next year! Friendly service and plenty of seating.
Best lobster roll I've had in CT (so far, I'm still exploring) but this one was absolutely stellar.
Also tried the clam strips which were excellent.
The only let down was their slaw. It is incredible underprepared both from a seasoning and fermentation point of view. It's hard and tasteless without much flavor, and when eating a bunch of fried fatty foods having a good acidic slaw really does wonders. So here's to hoping they can fix that, but tbh I'd go back every time just for the rolls and clams.
Best seafood ever. And I've had seafood in both Gloucester Mass (seafood capital of the USA) and in the UK (where fish and chips comes from) and can say 'the Shack ' beats them all. My only regret is they'll be closed for the season soon. But for tonight it's a taste of heaven with fish and chips.
AWESOME SEAFOOD!!!!! If you are in the Norwich area this place is DEFINATELY worth it.
Haven't been there for a couple years when I had tacos which were good.
Yesterday got shrimp, onion rings and clam fritters, which they normally only have Mondays, which I kept missing. I hate that I have to order online. He has his reasons, as do I.
Shrimp very good, onion rings and coleslaw also very good. Clam fritters were disappointing. If it were just a fritter, good flavor. Clam fritter, no sir, doesn't qualify. Blindfolded, never would have known. This is a common complaint and honestly, I don't know why places don't do better. I don't literally need to see the clams (although it would be nice) but I need to taste them. A little clam broth maybe I don't know.
They delivered curbside which is nice because I cannot walk well. All in all good meal and happy business is doing well.

I'm giving this place 5stars because of the reviews I just read ...the positive and negative ones. This score is due to the great responses from the owner whom I assume is Johnny. Even though I have not as yet visited this establishment...I certainly will based on the owners responses to reviews. I find him honest and refreshing!!! Good for you...My daughter and I will see you soon.
Fantastic food every time! We enjoy picking up yummy seafood dinner from here! Last time they forgot my chowder and after I called to let me know they kindly refunded it. We will definitely be returning.
I'm a New England girl and now live in Southern Pennsylvania. I make a 5 and a half hour trip to New England twice a year for clam bellies. I went to 4 different places this year and Johnny's was by far the best. Friendly staff and delicious bellies.
It was Monday so clam fritters was on the menu and we also ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. Just wish there were more clams in the fritters. You can order ahead online which is nice.
We had Fish and chips, fried clam strips and hush puppies. Order ahead online, if it's working my order wasn't able to be accepted this time. Fast and friendly service. New menu board, see photo attached.
