Great chips and salsa. Waiter was super friendly and the Cowboys burrito was fabulous.
Good chimichanga. I define Mexican restaurants largely by one major standard: how is the chimichanga? Well, the one here is pretty darn good. A chimichanga consists of a nicely fried tortilla filled with chicken or beef, refried beans, queso cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and tomato. It doesnt have any ranchero or pino de gallo sauce (that is the mark of an inferior dish). This place nailed it pretty well. I will definitely be going back. I like the changa at Los Tarascos but I liked it at Jalapenos even more. The salsa seemed pretty low grade but I will say that the chimichanga is good and thats more important.
Best Mexican in Northport. Been to Jalapenos many times and have never been disappointed. There are many Mexican places in Northport but this one has the best service and food.
It's a tough call on which Tuscaloosa Mexican restaurant I like better - Jalapenos or Iguanna Grill. I must stay true to my first love and go with Jalapenos. The fajita gumbo is excellent as well as the simple chicken tenders with white cheese dip on top. I highly reccomend the fajita gumbo to those of you that would like to try something different instead of getting your same old same old like most people do when eating at Mexican places.
My first time visiting Jalapeños was today after church service. The restaurant staff were very professional, friendly and the service was excellent. The food was delicious. The only regret is that I didn't try any of the desserts. I recommend Jalapeños to anyone that likes Mexican food.
Food was good, location and atmosphere is great. Employees are nice and helpful. Food is at a good price, but they could season it a little more. But overall all a great experience.
The food is kind a like a step above Taco Bell, it’s far from authentic. You know though the restaurant is nice, it’s family friendly., the people are nice, they have free chips and salsa, and they have great deals so I like it still.

They open at 5:00 for dinner. Get there early...they fill up fast. Very nice waiter. Food is hot. Plentiful portions. Very attentive.
