Olympic Flame Diner

3 stars because it was an edible meal and the tzatziki was pretty good. That's about all I can say for this place. We came for late lunch and while they were kind of busy, we couldn't understand why the service was just so lackluster. It was impossible to get someone to get a water refill or ask for anything beyond what came on the plate. As far as the food goes: do not- I repeat- do not come here expecting anything resembling Greek food. I know its a diner but yikes it wasn't great. My husband got the pastisio and it was the worst I've ever tasted (usually a favorite of mine). It was warm tomato sauce and cheap ground beef with noodles. No flavor. I had the chicken gyro, and while that wasn't bad, the chicken strips were overcooked. I got the "platter" which basically means it comes with salad, but it wasn't served with any dressing (nor was my husband's), so we used the tzatziki instead. Forget about asking the waiter for anything because you're lucky to even get a water refill. The food DID come out fast, which was a plus. Overall, everyone was polite, the food arrived fast, but the service and the taste of the food was awful- ESPECIALLY for the price. I can't believe we paid $45 for a meal that was probably 100% previously frozen.

Always love this place! One of my favorite restaurants in the area, with lots of menu items to choose from and very affordable prices, that alone should make you want to come here. The service is always quick and courteous and the space and seating is always clean. I tried something different than my usual meals and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend to anyone in the area, they have everything from breakfast items and sandwiches to pasta and baked goods. TLDR; Some of my favorite dishes include: - Chicken and waffles - Corned beef hash and eggs over easy - Chicken salad stuffed in avocado - Grilled cheese and sweet potato fries

Diners in New York are a way of life. Finding a place to get good food on the go with not a lot of fanfare and ballyhoo isn't always easy , but in this town it makes it look simple with the likes of Olympic Flame Diner. They have joined the remaining restaurants striving to keep it going literally on the streets of N.Y.C. Always good to keep it simple . Good value and quality service. Minus one star for the delay in paying the bill. Look for the edit. No doubt will frequent a sitting once again.

I've been ordering from this place for over 10 years. Dished out hundreds of dollars to the flame. I receive a call that the new owner isn't happy with me for ordering under the $10 limit ( 2 coffees). I had no idea there was a limit. Apparently, they have a new owner and now have a limit. But, there's no limit listed anywhere on seamless or on their site. I found it incredibly rude to treat any customer this way especially one that's been giving you their money for over 10 years. If the owner wants to act as if my money isn't good enough, that's fine. She just lost a long time customer. I will never order from them again. I was spending a minimum of $40 every few days from them on a weekly basis. A few times I ordered under the phantom $10 limit and it's warranted a phone call from the company. If the new owner had an issue she should have called me directly. Instead she sends her workers to do the uncomfortable job that she's too much of a coward to do herself. Now, let me just say my review does not reflect the workers and their hard work. They are all very nice people. I've never had an issue with them. Always have been respectful and kind to my family and I. I think they are great people. But this new owner, she's a coward. If my money isn't good enough for her, I'll take it elsewhere. Restaurants all over NYC are suffering right now and she's complaining about my money, because apparently it's not enough. Greed just lost you some money.

Two nights in a row they've gotten my pick up order wrong. You actually have to try and fail to provide service this bad. How hard is it to read an online order off of your own website? I ask for sweet potato fries and I get curly fries instead. I ask for string beans I get broccoli instead. The food is overcooked and dried out as well. They have no way to report an error as their voice mail isn't even working for their phone number and no one picked up the phone. If options weren't so limited right now I would never have ordered from there but seeing as how they can't get their act together and provide pickup service in even the most minimally professional way I strongly recommend to all to avoid this place.
