Redeye Grill

I want to start out by saying that the maître D is an absolute professional, and was a breath of fresh air in this city. I was totally blown away with his professionalism and his greetings as we enter the restaurant. The restaurant is slightly eclectic inside with some hilarious paintings over the wall. A very nice full bar in the middle, and while seating is relatively close together, it is a very open and well lit area. Our waitress was Karina and we enjoyed her service through the entire evening. We came in for happy hour. I got the old fashion which was excellent. My wife got the cosmopolitan as well as a sunrise spritz drink. Love them all. When we passed this restaurant four days ago, we saw “Home of the dancing shrimp” on the wall and laughed out loud. So we had to order it. I will say it was the weakest item on the menu that we ordered that day while it is cool to look at, it really wasn’t that fantastic. The sauces were all very good. The sushi burger was absolutely beautiful to look at, and the quality of the tuna is the best that I have had in several years. It was melted in your mouth good. Everything was fresh and would absolutely order it again. My wife got the Cobb salad with a side order of steak to put on the salad salad and everything was excellent. Super fresh ingredients all around. We took cheesecake to go and ate it in our hotel room and I enjoyed it a great deal. My wife gave it an average score.

I love this place! My husband and I actually ate here twice during our stay in NYC! The staff is so welcoming and accommodating! And the food was delicious! I highly recommend the teriyaki salmon entree! It tasted clean, sweet, savory, fresh and flavorful! I felt divine after eating it! Thank you Redeye Grill!

We came to Redeye Grill as it was close to our hotel. We'd just arrived in NYC and wanted a drink and a light meal. This place was perfect for us. It had interesting decor, to say the least. But, it was comfortable and enjoyable. The drinks were big (and strong) which we appreciated after a long day flying. We chose to eat some of the "famous" coconut shrimp and a sushi roll. The shrimp were quite good, though I thought they were overpriced. The sushi was good. What made the night special was our server, Angelina. She took such good care of us. Even though they were closing and we were the last people in the restaurant, she never made us feel rushed.

This was spectacular. To begin the atmosphere was delightful. They had live music playing with bold dark woods all around. Not to mention our hotel is catered from here which is why we new the food would be good. Our waiter, I didn’t catch his name but he had a fantastic moustache, was amazing. He kept joking around with us and created an amazing experience for all of us. We all stuck to getting sushi for the most part and it was delightful to say the least. After dinner was completed they brought out complimentary cotton candy and chocolate cookies. And when I say they brought out cotton candy they brought a tower of cotton candy around 2 feet tall. It was crazy. Would definitely recommend

Fabulous service, swanky atmosphere, tasty food! The best of the best! I came here a few months ago on a Sunday for bottomless brunch. Every staff member was welcoming and cheery from the moment you enter. Our waitress was polite, friendly and helpful! She was an absolute Angel! I forgot her name but I remember she was from San Fran. Breakfast plates were divine as well were the mimosas! Art was beautiful too and I love the renaissance vibe. Love it here and would definitely come back if I’m in the Central Park area.
