The food was great! The pastrami sandwich was fantastic. It's so thinly sliced it almost melts in your mouth.

Matzoh ball soup was incredible, my first experience ever. Naturally Followed up by a corned beef sandwich on fresh wheat bread with mustard. Came with about a lb. Of meat and the corned beef was certainly something to write home about. Every order is also served with housemade coleslaw and 2 difficult kinds of pickles. If ever in the area, be sure you swing by, even if your not in the area its worth the journey!

So happy I got a recommendation for this place. A+ service. We were seated immediately, and the restaurant was quiet, which was so welcome for our kids after escaping the busy streets we passed to get there. Delicious complimentary coleslaw and pickles were provided as we looked at our menus. I had a half pastrami sandwich and matzah ball soup. My kids shared brisket and fries. My wife had a potato pancake and soup. We all enjoyed our food. Our server was very attentive and checked in many times. He gave us some nice tiny chocolate sodas with our bill.

Some of the best pastrami and corned beef I ever had. Perfectly prepared. I got half pastrami and half corned beef to go that was recommended by another customer. They prepare and cook it there. Pickles were delicious as well. Try a Dr. Brown's soda with it, and the meal is complete.

The 2nd Ave Jewish Deli in New York offers a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds, reminiscent of a hearty, home-cooked meal. The menu is a homage to traditional Jewish delicacies, each dish cooked to near perfection. The flavors are rich and authentic, capturing the essence of Jewish culinary heritage impressively. One can feel the dedication and the age-old recipes working in unison to deliver a delightful dining experience. However, amidst the delectable journey, a rough patch was hit when the bill arrived. The Babka, though flavorful and texturally pleasing, came with a price tag of $11 for a mere piece, not a loaf. This pricing felt quite steep, detouring the experience from a homey eatery to a rather upscale dining aura. In summary, the 2nd Ave Jewish Deli scores high on authenticity and taste, providing a cozy retreat for those longing for a taste of tradition. Yet, the pricing for some items like the Babka, casts a small shadow on what could be a heartwarming and pocket-friendly outing.

My family & I ate at the deli. We ordered corned beef and pastrami sandwiches The food was awesome. The meat was not salty like other famous place in nyc. The service was great. My new must eat place when I visit town

So honoured to try one of the classic old jewish deli’s in NYC🙌🏼 Coleslaw, pickles, cookie were all free:) Not the cheapest but the experience was nice and food was distinct. The decor is old school too! 1. Chopped Liver Pâté ($15.95) - 4/5⭐️ Tasted like chopped foie gras! Buttery, smooth, and strong liver taste. The challah bread was milky, eggy, soft, and was a heavenly match with the strong-tasting liver with tangy onions. 2. Hot Pastrami Sandwich ($25.95) - 4/5⭐️ Meat was thinly sliced and super juicy with some fatty parts. The slightly sour rye bread was a perfect complement to the heavier meat.

Cute and quiet little place to pop in for a meal. We got half a pastrami and roasted turkey sandwiches with fries and soup. The matzoh ball soup was my favorite, especially having it on a brisk day. Our server was very lovely and made our experience x10 more enjoyable too, super friendly people here.

2nd Ave Deli never disappoints. Sure, the sandwiches are a little pricey, but sooooo worth it. I always order the pastrami and it is always served to perfection. Their pastrami sandwich is iconic. Everything else (which is also great) is a bonus. Service was terrific. We were seated immediately and our server was attentive and wonderful. What can I say? I will always make a trip tp 2nd Avenue Deli due to its consistency and great food.

A place to go for a pastrami sandwich. It's smaller, but very cozy with great service from the staff!
