Booked a table for 3 yesterday via Open Table. Arrived and was greeted by the manager and we were promptly seated within five minutes of our reservation despite a full house and people lingering due to inclement weather. Service was impeccable and as expected the wine list is filled with wonderful selections from “Bella Italia”. Our pick Riserva Di Fizzano 2012 a single vineyard classical Chianti. Appetizers were delicious. Try the Arrancine the rice balls a classic, simple but done perfectly with no excess oil dripping and the Frito Misto served with Calamari and shrimp. Pasta all homemade and served al dente in the classical way. My girlfriend ordered the pasta with mushrooms recommend it ! I had the steak served with grilled radicchio and fingerling potato’s Ordered medium rare delivered exactly as requested. While others around us were ordering Brussels sprouts I went for the Bracollini served with a nice sautéed hot Italian pepper Just the right heat for a snowy Friday night. Dessert was the “ special gelato donut and the classic Italian pannacotta fresh and a balance of flavors. Delicious cappuccino ended our meal. Prices very reasonable for NYC and portions are good. No faults with our meal. Loved it and was greeted on the way out by the Manager who thanked us ( and all his guests) for coming and invited us to return , which we shall. A soho gem. Enjoy
Service was mirrored by the quality of food - perfect! I had the Duck and Waffle; amazing dish! My wife had the Crab Benedict; delicious and generously laden with large lump crab. Our plates hit our table in ten minutes.
Great place to get brunch in SoHo without the usual 1.5 hour wait! ...and yes, we were seated immediately :)
Overall ok place for Italian food. Menu is quite limited (we only saw 9 dish options on a weekend lunch, including sides). Service was not very attentive. But food was not bad. Overall, could be a good spot to stop by casually if nearby, but certainly not a "destination" restaurant.
Stopped in randomly for lunch (2pm) after a morning of shopping and was surprised to see it so empty, there were only two other parties besides us.
Staff was very welcoming and got us seated right away with some crisp wine, she ordered the kale salad, I ordered the charred octopus—both came out quickly and were very tasty, but it’s important to note, these portions are pretty big, so bring your appetite.
Next she ordered the cacio e Pepe and I got the scallops and the shishito peppers which were amazing—again, large portions, and to top things off we (I, let’s be honest) ended with the strawberry sorbet.
Overall the food was fantastic, the service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely, but questionable. It was lots of Samba da benção-esque, fado music playing which was great, and then somehow switched to the Austin Powers theme song lol, enjoyable, but interesting! Would recommend
We stumbled upon this restaurant, as it was close to our hotel and boy was it an experience of food.
The rosemary focaccia paired with the burrata was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. The butternut squash with the octopus also just went down instantly
We also went for the Rib Eye (40oz) and had a great evening.
-1 for service, as we asked for a light red wine and got one of the strongest ever. But taste buds differ I guess.
Aurora is a great restaurant in the soho area, great food with good prices! The restaurant is cozy and with a good playlist ideal for a date night or dinner with friends or family. The service is very nice and they have a really good wine list for very good prices! If you are in soho definitely stop by Aurora for a nice meal
The food was really delicious. I had croquette as the starter. The stuffed risotto and cheese was wonderful. Also, I had bolognese which was also rich in flavors. I would give them 9.5 out of 10
This place is a fantastic Italian restaurant! 🇮🇹 Aurora in SoHo serves a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 Italian dishes 🍽️ - definitely try any of their pasta 🍝 options, the Croquettes with Truffles 🍄, Half Chicken 🍗 with Broccoli 🥦, Tiramisu, and - the crown 👑 jewel 💎 - the Chocolate 🍫 Torte! 🍰 Staff 👨🍳 is friendly and welcoming, service is professional, the place is nicely decorated 🛋️, and the ambience 🎶 is great! I wish I came here earlier!
I had the best experience and service in this Italian restaurant, the waitress made the best recommendations about wine and food. Beautiful atmosphere, can’t wait to come back <3
Aurora it’s one of my favorite places in town. This place have being like home for the past 10 years.
My recommendation here it’s actually the full menu, lol wait, I do love the squid ink pasta and the focaccia.
Everyone here it’s friendly and sweet, usually sit at the bar, one of the best service I had in my life.
I’d recommended 100% always. Love Aurora Soho.
Fantastic restaurant, its been a staple of mine for over 6 years in the city.
Thursday evening was a treat! As always fabulous food! We were so well taken care of.
We did notice some crazy table from Europe beside us
They left $1 in tips and were extremely rude to the poor server who handled herself so elegantly. The manager himself was extremely polite. Thankfully he asked that they leave after making the atmosphere less than appealing.
I heard them say they were shocked to have to pay gratuity. In America we are proud to pay 20% in tips for great service. I realize in Europe they don’t tip. When in Rome….
If you don’t want to tip just get out in my opinion. Go home!
Aurora is amazing! I cant wait for another moment of elegance at Aurora!
Thank you David and Antonietta for taking such special care of us and all those around us.
See you soon!
Highly recommended. Visited NY for a week and found this hidden gem in Soho. Staff were very welcoming and the food was really great. Love to come back!! PS : try to order the squid ink crab pasta and thank me later :)
