Everything was absolutely phenomenal—especially the Punjabi goat curry! This has to be the best Indian food I’ve had in the states!

I absolutely LOVE Tamarind Tribeca. I would take the lower-rated comments with a grain of salt because I had an incredible experience and this is my 2nd time coming. I’ve dined at Indian restaurants all over the world and this place is in the top 3. The prices are very reasonable and you’re getting a high quality meal for the price you pay. Other Indian restaurants charge double the price for average service that isn’t memorable. Tamarind Tribeca wins 5 stars in Service, Atmosphere, and Food for me! The second you walk in the staff is ready to help you and check you in for your reservation. Once you’re seated, you’re given warm cleansing wipes to prep for eating. After appetizers, the staff presents you a large clean hot plate ready for the main meal. Everyone was helpful and attentive. The cuisine was delicious and probably the best Dal Makhani I’ve had from a restaurant. Drinks are also amazing and you have to order the pistachio kulfi for dessert!

Food is great and priced pretty well for the portion size and atmosphere you get. Highly recommend the palak chaat, toplina paneer, and kheer. And if you like, the drinks are pretty strong. The same chef went and started Mahal Glen Cove. The food is similar but you can tell the quality control here is much better. Every dish had the perfect ratio of flavors mixing -- no dish was off. For example, the Palak Chaat - excellent with the yogurt sauce. It really cuts through the light oil of the fried palak and enhances the saltiness and the crunch of the palak. The mint in the green chutney adds a refreshing note but not overwhelming. At Mahal, it's 50/50 whether something is going to be off. The salt would be too much or the yogurt would be too much and make the dish soggy. Here, it's consistent every time. The one critique of the food: it's definitely not spicy by default :( p.s. if you like subtlety sweet, not rich, desserts, (think custards or Napoleon cakes) their kheer (rice pudding) - absolutely excellent. They make it warm, not cold, but is one of the best kheer I've ever had.

I visited Tamarind for the first time with a big group so we got to try a lot of things. The restaurant has a very upscale ambience with a unique upstairs/downstairs layout, and the service is great. The dishes are quite pricey but there were some I liked quite a lot. We were given the option of having a set menu (starting price was $95/person) or ordering a la carte, and we decided to go a la carte, which ended up being ~$70-75 per person with desserts after tax and tip. The dishes I liked in particular were the Tamarind scallops appetizer (perfectly cooked, great flavor, but only 3 scallops for $24), Hara bhara kabab ($17 for some very tasty spinach patties), and the shrimp caldin (~9 tasty shrimps in a green curry for $37). I would definitely get these again. I wouldn't recommend the malai halibut ($40), though it was the winner of the 2004 USA fish dish awards. It was a bit dry and took a long time to make. It had good flavor and a nice smokiness otherwise. I also thought the chicken in the chicken tikka masala was almost inedibly tough and dry. Everything else we had was good, though nothing in particular stood out to me other than the above. We also tried a lot of the desserts. The desserts came in large portion sizes/more dramatic plating than we expected. Overall they were pretty good but I wouldn't say anything was a must get. Honestly I would've been happy with a mango lassi but I balked at the drink prices. Overall I'm glad I got to try this upscale Indian restaurant -- it was quite the experience! They had some really tasty dishes but the price point is quite high, and there were some misses as well.

Absolutely love this place for lunch and dinner. I went there on Saturday for my wedding anniversary lunch and the service was spectacular. We ordered lunch prefix menu which included one appetizer, two entrees and one desert. Being vegetarian for appetizer. I ordered tomato soup, in entrees I ordered paneer curry and spinach saag. All entrees are served with jeera rice and naan. The dessert was absolutely tasty. We ordered moong dal halwa and kesar kulfi. They have great Indian style cocktails my fav being Tamarind Margarita. Food is delicious, reasonably priced for 5 star restaurant. Perfect place to celebrate any special occasion!!! Highly recommend ❤️

Hara Bhara Kabab & Amritsari Seekh were outstanding. Nargisi Kofta was definitely special. Tried their “Midnight in Mumbai” & “Jaljeera” from the cocktail menu, really good.

Tamarind is my place to go when I crave Indian food. I'm not into very spicy food so I appreciate the options availlable to me. The BATAKI KOSHA (Minced Duck Cooked With Onion, Ginger, Garlic, Garam Masala Hand Rolled In A Rice Crepe) is one of my favorite dishes there. KOLAMBI POLA *Prawns Sautéed In Coconut, Lemongrass, Dried Red Chilies, Spiced Chickpea Flour Cake) was great as well as the CHICKEN SHAHI KORMA (Roasted Chicken In A Saffron Cashew Sauce) with garlic naan. And the margaritta was nice and strong.

Quantity is less but quality is best. Food was really good but expensive 😜. Malai naan is one of the best and unique thing I tried if you are going there must try Malai naan and hara bhara kabab.

I highly recommend going to Tamarind to celebrate a special occasion! The chicken tikka masala, chicken takka tak, lamb vindaloo and saag paneer were incredible. For dessert, you must try the cardamom crème brûlée which was unlike anything I had before! I’d describe the menu as elevated traditional Indian food with exquisite flavor. Staff was very attentive (including to gluten free, all nuts and sesame allergies) and the ambiance of the whole restaurant was lovely.
