Went for breakfast. The food was delicious though my eggs were overcooked. We sat outside and our server was frankly disinterested in serving us. We were unable to get a single refill of coffee the entire meal.

Good breakfast. Pierogi’s were delicious. Our server was more concerned with eating and getting his tea than us. Potato pancake was cold.

I never come to NYC without a visit to Veselka. I am not being dramatic when I say I dream about their pierogies. This place is ALWAYS busy so be prepared to wait in line. However they turn the tables pretty fast and yet you never feel rushed. That’s an art form in itself. I’ve been coming here for years and I see the same people each time. It’s testament to their community and the people who make the restaurant great. One idea which would make this restaurant perfect. Pierogi making classes! I would be the first to sign up.

We went here on. Thursday at the end of October. We came for an early dinner since had not had lunch, I think we arrived around 5pm-ish. We were seated immediately at a requested outdoor table. Service was fast, food was ready quickly and was amazing! I had boiled potato Perogies which was served with fries onions and sour cream. My husband had Beef Stroganoff which was a huge and hearty portion. He had a choice of side items and chose sauerkraut. My husband is Ukrainian and said the food reminded him of his childhood and the food his Baba made for him... I would say that's the highest praise a place can get. On a side note...Bathroom was dirty with pee all over the toilet seat and floor. There is one bathroom for meen and women that has 1 toilet and one urinal. That was the single only negative. In the last photo you can see the line that had formed within 30mins of our arrival. The line is all the way down the block!

We ordered most of the different pierogi flavors and they really don't disappoint. My personal favorites would be the short rib & the sauerkraut/mushroom, though the classic and the cheese were fantastic too. The borscht was also terrific and the egg cream (though a bit of an acquired taste) was delightful. Would definitely recommend trying it out if you haven't already!

Not the most tasty Ukranian food (Brighton Beach is better), but decent nonetheless. As all things Manhattan, pricey portions.

Super fast service! Food was tasty, quick, and hot. We stopped in for a quick bite before our flight and it did not disappoint. If you enjoy Slavic food this location is a must-try! Definitely going back for more!

Excellent Pierogi, stuffed cabbage and Borscht. Short wait at 2p (20minutes) but main lunch crowd left. Ordered and in less than 7 minutes the meal came 😋❣️🎉 worth the wait. No rushing as I finished my 20oz glass of Orolon (Ukrainian beer).

First rate hot borscht, a brothy stew really. First rate sauerkraut, beautifully spiced. And of course great pierogi. Kind attentive server, even if the place was not too busy.

Delicious, reasonably priced Ukrainian comfort food, Veselka is one of my favorite spots in the East Village. Their pierogi and latkes are the best. Great place to stop by on a weekday for breakfast or for brunch with friends and family on the weekend. Friendly and attentive wait staff, service is prompt, and professional. Come hungry, and enjoy a taste of Ukraine in New York.
