This place is a hidden gem! Out of towners wanting to try something close to the hotel. Friendly staff, great food. I got the shrimp etufee and grits. It came with eggs and toast. A great meal! We were in and out at 8 am on a Sunday morning.

The 3rd Wakin' Bakin' site that I've enjoyed a meal in and it's never a disappointment. Great service with friendly staff. The biscuits are so soft and the gravy is delicious, plus paired with scrambled eggs and homemade sausage for a savory brunch. Love the refills on coffee.

Wow, just wow. This friendly, relaxed diner serves incredible flavors! My friends and I visited twice during our visit to NOLA. We enjoyed everything we ordered: OG Bowl, SuperBowl (vegan) and Heart Healthy Omelette. The chefs have mastered the textures and flavors of the cajun smashed hash, grits, the chili lemongrass tofu, and the creamy seasoned black beans. The sourdough is perfect. They use a special blend of French Truck coffee and I didn’t need cream or sugar. The servers are friendly and enthusiastic. I hope to return!

The food was so delicious..loved the tofu momma bowl. The hash (smashed, crispy potatoes) was outstanding. Incredibly friendly staff. Can't miss this breakfast spot.

Great brunch spot, they open earlier than most, and the quality and price is great. Had been here once with my sister from out of town back in 2019 and thought Biscuits on Banks was better, but since the pandemic both restaurants redid their menus and I think Wakin Bakin is probably the best breakfast spot uptown. The service is always timely and the workers seem happy to be there. The hardest part is choosing what to eat because all the options are good. It does have a relatively small interior, though there is plenty of outdoor seating, but that means in inclement weather you may have to wait for a table. If you are bringing a large party they may have trouble accommodating, most interior tables are setup to accommodate 2-4 people, the outside picnic tables could easily fit 6.

Great staff, great food, great vibes! I’ve been here a couple times and I always enjoy sitting outside. I had one small issue, I asked for my eggs to be “over medium” but they came out virtually uncooked. Our waiter was enough to accommodate and acknowledge the error. Overall, perfect spot for breakfast.

Some of the best biscuits and sausage gravy your taste buds will ever encounter. The biscuits are as exceptional as the gravy at Wakin’ Bakin’. Yum! Yum! Portions are generous and the prices competitive. Decaf drip available. Service was prompt and my server and trainer server were both lovely and often checked in ensuring I had enough coffee. Do yourself a favor and eat breakfast here. Get the biscuits and gravy. Don’t forget to tip!

Friend in town so I decided to take him to brunch. Love the mid city location so I had to try this one. Staff was friendly, and they asked for vax cards. Food was delicious and I love the smashed hash potatoes! I had a sourdough sandwich (w/o bacon) and it was tasty! Didn't realize how much I needed the fresh squeezed OJ in my life today! Great location as it is walking distance from my house! Yum!

Delicious food and excellent customer service! Will definitely be returning. Their menu is short but nothing on it will disappoint. I got the biscuits and gravy. Many places either have a good gravy or a good biscuit, but this dish does it right with both the biscuit AND the gravy. I'll definitely be returning.
