Alright, we never intended on stopping at this place because we were under the false impression that only items sold here were specialty to order meats. Boy, were we ever wrong! So, we saw a banner advertising fresh cracklings. We decided on a whim to pull up, there was a man at a very large Vat with a wooden paddle cooking. We asked him was he making the cracklings, to which he responded "yes". So we hurried inside, I was ever so anxious to have the two patrons ahead of me move the hell out the way so we could get to our prize. We saw that the cracklings were laid on a heated table in the middle of the floor. It truly resembled a pirate's chest full with booty. We ordered one bag priced modestly at 6.99 and two drinks, a taffy candy, as well as some famous amos cookies. These cracklings were like Jesus in a bag. They were crispy, hot, delicious, salty, seasoned, etc. I wish I would have bought 5 bags. We inhaled the bag within 5 minutes. I bought some local juice called Magouns. It is strawberry lemonade. It tastes very bland like muddled strawberries in water with a splash of lemon juice and NO sugar. There was a plethora of stuffed chicken, pork, steak, and quail parts. Various sausages, side dishes, boudin, and vegetables. I will be back to this place, probably when they open at 9am. I need more of the cracklings in my life.

I have gone to Dons and Best Stop in Scott, LA that claims to have the best cracklins and boudin and none of them compares to Chris's in Nola!!! All the food is super flavorful!! You will not be disappointed no matter which dish you get frozen or fresh!! Love this place!!!
Great selection of meat. The people that work at Chris' Specialty Meats are always attentive and have great knowledge of the products they sell. I highly recommend Chris' Specialty Meats.
They have oxtails, crawfish rings, fish, chicken, frog legs, all types of things I can’t pronounce. Packaged so neat & organized. LAURA is the sweetest. She gives the hint feeling any establishment needs to make someone want to come back. Give her a raise !!! She spoke so highly of owner & the place. Will be back. Got some cool ruby shrimp , oxtails, & frog Legs & spent w little over 60. Affordable & everything looks clean & fresh. Oh & a little menu print out to tell you how to cook some of the things there. Like yes!
We love getting special meat from Chris. Never been disappointed. They've ordered special things for me. Go check them out.
I found this place by researching places that sell Turducken. ( I live out of state). The store is very neat and organized. All the staff was friendly. I ended up leaving with Turducken, crawfish pies, cracklin, seasoning, crawfish meat, & sausage. So far everything has been delicious.
Drove all over the city looking for someone who sold beef ribs; not those little things in the grocery. After driving around all day ended up being at Chris's right around the corner the whole time. They were delicious.

The friendly atmosphere & the amazing staff not to mention the huge selection of products. This is a must go for all foodies
Found a large variety of meats, Will definitely be back again. Great service and an extremely clean facility. I highly recommend this place. Prices are very reasonable as well. I live 4 hours from New Orleans, and will.most likely take a day trip just to.come back to shop.
