My partner and I stayed at the Eliza Jane and had breakfast at Couvant almost every morning. The food is pretty solid. The poached egg on the avocado toast was perfect and the scrambled eggs were super creamy. Paired with the potatoes this was the perfect hangover meal. The service was a little off. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders seemed unmotivated in taking our plates, only our empty drinks while we were eating. Also, we basically had to get the manager to clear and wipe down the bar so we could sit and eat which took a really long time. I guess there were some territorial issues going on? Any how great food. Could do better on service.
Visited this lovely restaurant for my birthday dinner. We had a party of 15 and the restaurant and staff accommodated us beautifully. The service was phenomenal our party was serviced by Uma she was spectacular and extremely patient as this was a very large group. Jackson assisted with cocktail and wine selection. He is very knowledgeable on what pairs well with each selected course. He also introduced me to my new favorite scotch.
We could not stop raving about how delectable the food was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and top that with amazing service. Thank you so much to the entire staff for making this such a beautiful event.
10 out of 10 I definitely recommend.
Went there for brunch during Coolinary Month. Service was very attentive but not distracting. Ordered an Old Fashioned and selected a nice Rye bourbon after talking with the bartender. He made exactly as I wanted! The food came out quickly and was plated very attractively period. The sauce for the Duck Spring Rolls tended to overpower the flavor of the duck, so we skipped it but enjoyed it on the toast we ordered. The spring rolls were fried perfectly. The only downside was a lack of enough sauce on the Eggs Benedict
We had dinner here for Bastille Day (Feté Nationale). The decorations were fun and attractive. The food was great, the escargot was some of the best I have had anywhere. Our server was first class, friendly and attentive. A beautiful building and good atmosphere. We will definitely return.
I was skeptical we would be able to be seated when I arrived and told the host that we had a group of 10 with no reservation. We agreed to split the group if they needed and waited for the rest of our group to arrive. The wait staff and hostess worked quietly but quickly and were able to seat our group together even though we arrived with less than 2 hours left of their brunch service. I love the atmosphere of this place. The restaurant flows with the attached hotel bar and lobby decor. The wood grain tables were warm and inviting.
The offered their brunch menu and a special coolinary menu of multiple courses. It was nice that each person was able to choose a La carte items or the multi course option. Various orders of the blue crab salad, shrimp and grits, pork shoulder Benedict, and stuffed French toast were delivered with beautiful plating. The expediting station was right in the dining room so we were able to watch the finishing touches be added to every dish. I had the French toast sticks and two eggs. The eggs were seasoned perfectly. The fresh whipped cream and the berry compote had me cleaning my plate.
Great place for any meal! Their dishes are unique, flavorful, and are a phenomenal value for such a beautiful space and elevated dining. Phillip treated us like gold, made amazing recommendations, and gave us insights on the history of some dishes. Amazing time!
Visited back in August. Loved this restaurant. Uma our waitress went above and beyond for our table. Jackson recommended great wines and scotch that paired perfectly with our meal. Highly recommend. Thank you for making my friend's birthday dinner perfect!
We joined a meeting party and we couldn't stop talking about the Duck & Brie Spring Rolls and the stuffed French toast with cream cheese and berries. The flavors were delicious and great pairing. I highly recommend. Service was great, we didn't feel rushed and beautiful restaurant in CBD on Magazine. I'll be back!
I had the opportunity to try this place, and it was amazing! Great atmosphere, great food, great service, and great drinks!! I got the brioche crusted veal and it was simply divine! All the flavors came together beautifully. The waiter was amazing, and the chef came out to see how everything was!! Will definitely be back!!
Lovely interior and ambiance. I was there for breakfast. The portions were huge. Mostly good but the pain perdu was not great. It just tasted like a baguette dipped in butter and lots of honey. Way too sweet. The mushroom omelette was good. All the portions were enough to be shared between two people. Service was great. Cutlery was dirty though.
