Shake Sugary

Dawn at Shake Sugary was an absolute joy to work with, and our wedding cakes were the BEST! Absolutely delicious and soooo beautiful!! From the beginning, Dawn took the time to get to know us and understand exactly what we were hoping for. She made us 7 different cakes and 11 different fillings/icings for the taste test, and each one was utterly delicious!! We decided on her amaaazing strawberry cake with passionfruit curd for our wedding cake and her chocolate extravaganza (chocolate cake with mousse and ganache!) for the grooms cake. She delivered them and decorated the wedding cake with our leftover flowers, and it was all so perfect! We loved our experience with Shake Sugary and would highly recommend their cakes for any wedding or celebration!!

I should have written this review months ago. My mom is allergic to everything under the sun, but I wanted her to be able to eat cake on my wedding day. I spoke to Dawn and Shake Sugary made her the most beautiful dairy, soy, nut, gluten free cupcakes I have ever seen. Not to mention, they tasted like HEAVEN! I plan on getting these cupcakes made for my mom every time she comes in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have experienced two different sides of Shake Sugary. My wife is gluten free, so I have ordered a few cakes for her for birthdays. Their gluten free cake is fantastic. They have always been accommodating through the ordering process. That side of Shake Sugary has always been great. The other side of Shake Sugary, which I have not been as impressed by is eating inside. Very limited menu and seating. I wouldn't recommend eating there as a restaurant. Stick with ordering pastries and cakes to go.

Shake Sugary were amazing to work with for this vegan bride! Being a destination wedding we wanted something different so we went with a 4 tier'd king cake with a vegan top layer. Guest's are still talking about how tasty it was and shake was able to make a cake that usually isn't the most visually appealing into something so wedding worthy. My only regret is that I had to leave the left overs with my heart in new orleans.

I was staying close by so we were getting pastries at Shake Sugary everyday for 4 days. Everything from Red Velvet Cupcake and vegetable quiche to thier poppy seed bread....just to die for. They have great breakfast choices and good coffee. Also I tried some vegan options which I am typically not a fan of and I was impresed how good it tasted. Great family atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here on our trip across country. We were staying in the Bywater and wanted some veggie/vegan options. The place had probably one of the meanest ‘hipster’ front counter help I’d ever seen and stared at is the entire time making the dine in awkward. She seemed indifferent and miserable being there. Second the vegan biscuits and gravy were the absolute slimiest worst order ever. I mean come on Shake Sugary, have you ever sat down and tried to eat that gloop. I’ve been a veggie vegan for 25 years, I’m not new to this food. It is atrocious. I don’t write reviews very often but was compelled to write this.
