We absolutely loved this place!! We were looking for restaurants within walking distance after seeing a show at the Ashe Performance Theater. The food was great, and came out piping hot (I got the Flautas and my partner got Enchiladas). Service was lovely and the manager/owner was so nice. Definitely recommend checking it out, they even have live music occasionally!

Incredible and authentic Mexican food. The owner is a wonderful person willing to share his great life stories. The mezcal selection is unparalleled, and there are cocktails to help the uninitiated ease into a wonderful new world. Can't recommend it enough!

Lovely authentic family owned & operated restaurant & bar with outstanding service & atmosphere! We enjoyed our time at the bar with the owner mixing us some of the best margs we've ever had! Plan on returning soon to try the food. Limited hours of operation due to it being family run, but do yourself a favor & make plans to get here asap!

Casa Borrega is amazing! We already can’t wait to return. Great food and great drinks with a very cool atmosphere and a wonderful family behind it. Being there really is an experience, not just a meal. Highly recommend!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in New Orleans, with a new menu more focused on tacos and mezcal based drinks. I used to live in the area, and now live in Thailand, and this id on my list of places to go when I go back for a visit! Gracias!

Casa Borrega competes for the overall best Mexican food in New Orleans. At least, from our local point-of-view, Casa Borrega is our personal favorite! It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is not the typical super cheesy Tex-Mex. It seems to be more authentic Mexican food (but they still have great queso!). The mole is phenomenal! Elotes are another do not miss! I'm not a huge mezcal fan. The smoke aspect to it isn't my thing, but they have great mezcal and non-mezcal drinks. The margarita of the day was massive! The overall cost is a little more expensive than some other Mexican restaurants, but we felt it was worth it. The inside and outside of the restaurant are very well designed with lots of cool stuff. The ambiance in the back with the lights is excellent!

Love this spot. This part of town is an up and coming artsy neighborhood. We had the pleasure of going for a right before lunch rush time on a weekday. The owner was behind the bar and took care of us in a great way. Wow, is he quite the artist! His artwork and his design elements in the space is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. Quite a treasure for New Orleans. They do different specials every day and we came on a different day than the special I wanted, but they made me the one I wanted anyway, even though it wasn't the day. What great service and great hosts. I loved my meal, I loved the atmosphere, and I love the hosts and everything about this restaurant, would highly recommend as the best food for South of the border in New Orleans!

Absolutely love this place! This is a true authentic Mexican restaurant and Mexican owned, not to mention the largest and best selection of tequila in all of New Orleans! My mouth still waters every time I think about the Casa Dragones, damn was it delicious! Tried every single one of the tacos and they were all amazing! If this place was local to me I would be visiting weekly. The owner and staff here are super friendly and very generous. If you're in Nola, this place is a must!
