Tonight was our first time to eat at Avo Restaurant. We were impressed by the exterior upon arrival, very attractive. Our server was extremely nice and the service was very good. Everything that we ordered was great. Really good authentic food rather than huge portions like some Italian restaurants. We very much enjoyed our experience and will return in the future.
The entire experience was great. Drinks were delicious, and every item on the menu was prepared perfectly. The meatballs, crawfish ravioli, and Brussels sprouts were favorites. The restaurant has a quiet, romantic atmosphere without being overly formal. Highly recommended!
Delicious meal, wonderful ambience, outstanding service. Home cooked Italian. So fine. Doesn’t get much better than this.
Food was excellent! Service was great! The cacio e Pepe was really tasty! Burrata was very creamy! Pasta was made perfectly.
Decor was lacking and there was a weird smell… it smelled very chemically and was giving me a headache.
Avo is a fantastic Mediterranean restaurant! Cocktails are generous. Everything I’ve had on the menu is delicious. Service is prompt. Walking distance from most of uptown past Jefferson. 2 courses if you’re pretty hungry, and 3 courses if you’re really hungry. If you’re a loner, cocktails and a meal at the bar works well. It will not disappoint. JP.
I had the chicken picatta and my friend had the snapper special which was in seafood bisque. Both were delicious.
Well renowned restaurant lives up to its name. Italian food mixed with New Orleans seafood and styling is a match made in my tummy. We went here for our anniversary & it was a good choice! We started with their seared Octopus & Arancini w/ Tomato Basil Sauce . Our entrees were both delicious, from the lobster shells to the crawfish ravioli. How could you go wrong with any of this!

Upscale Italian food in a pretty dining atmosphere. Homemade pasta was delicious, cooked perfectly al dente. Short ribs were tender but not dry and full of flavor. Pesto pasta was very good but shrimp felt out of place, dish was delicious without them. The special beet salad was my favorite. Definitely recommend we enjoyed everything we tried.
Great place, good selection of wines, great service, presentation of the food is amazing.

Should have more selections on pasta as the menu is small and sweet .
Always an exceptional experience. The menu changes up so you never get tired of going there. Excellent Italian wine selection and service is top notch. I’ve been going since they opened and they have a forever fan! (Always get the meatballs too!!)
